It's been a while since I've visited - I got a new job and decided to take a couple of months off from swapping to get acclimated to the new job - lo & behold I check & it's been two hears .. where does time go.
I'm ready to start swapping again - to get some new ideas for card making.. I believe that my life's motto is "Do a Random Act of Kindness each & every day", and love showing that by just dropping a card in the mail to friends and family for no reason at all.
I'm not married and have no children of my own but truly enjoy them and usual have someone's children at my home each and every weekend.
Fortunately, I have a wide variety that I listen to - but tend to stay with something that has a beat. My likes include everything from the Celtic Women to Copeland to the modern pop/rock on the radio. Country also has its place in my listening pleasure. I'm a big fan of soundtracks but you can keep anything associated with rap. I'm sure it has it's place with someone - but that isn't me. Most days I get home and instantly turn on the CD player and let it run at a volume to make sure I can hear it from any room in the house.
In the sense of craftiness - I have only one real love and that is card marking with rubber stamps. I purchase just about every stamping magazine that I see and often times get home to realize that I have duplicates. I started out making just some simple birthday cards, but have expanded my talents and now am making wedding invitations and baby announcements. Making cards is a true joy - not only to see what I can create, but also the reaction from people who purchase my cards to send to others - or the individuals receiving the cards. For my personal card making - I tend to lean toward flowers and the pastel and bold/basic colors. However, I love the puny cards - the play-on words 'you're a wonderful purse-on' with purses in the background. I tend to stick to paper products and am not a big embellishment fan - a few brads or eyelets get my point across.
I enjoy the mysteries and the romances. At one time I had eight bookcases full of books. I tend to be a re-reader. Right now I have my favorite authors and re-read them and go to the library for my change of pace books. Friends take my arm and drag me by the bookstore when we got the mall to keep me from entering. I tell them I need to see what's available so I know what to get from the library - but I'm not sure they believe me. Right now favorites include Clive Cussler, Sue Grafton, Jennifer Crusie, Lori Foster and Christene Feehan.
Favorite movies are a tough category - only because I have probably 20 that I've purchased to watch - and they are all just sitting next to television waiting patiently. To find a few hours when I can sit down and watch a movie is next to impossible. If I'm at home - I'm doing something else. Although if you forced me to name my top five - it would have to include: 7 Brides for 7 Brothers; Magnificent 7 - the original with Yul Bryner & Steve McQueen; The 13th Warrior; Disney's Atlantis; and finally Brendan Fraiser's first Mummy movie.

She had gamma knife radiation last week and then she had a seizure on Wed and was rushed tot he hospital . She is home now, but we are helping with her 3 children.
