I am Nancy, a now 40-ish stay at home mother and wife. Love working with my hands always into something, whether it's crafting, cooking, or helping someone out, whenever I can!
Health problems have forced me to leave my hairstylist job of 20+ years, and the corporate job I had was eliminated a few years ago. Figuring out "where I belong" has been a challenge, since then. I'm still on the adventure!
My daughter, Aimee, is starting her 2nd year of pre-veterinary college this fall, and my son, Stefan, is now a senior in high school, and very active in sports. He keeps me running but I love it!
So proud of them both!
I reside in rural Southeast Indiana, on a few acres with the most wonderful neighbors. In the middle of everything, and close to NOTHING! The closest shopping mall is an hour's drive from here, in Cincinnati, OH.
I always said I would move away from here when I could. I did, and came back to raise my own kids here. Funny how that works! I love it here. :)
I love "meeting people" from other parts of the country and world, and also love making things for my friends and comparing styles. I loved having pen-pals as a kid!
The kinds of people I enjoy the most are ones who are honest and inspiring.
"You are only 10% as good as the top 10% of your friends", I am told, after all. So...that is important to me.
My 81 year old Grandmother is the most inspiring person I know. She has always been my "rock". I am blessed to still have her in my life! My ultimate goal in life is to be as good of a person as she is!
...craft, crochet, shop, and of course I love the internet! It's where my friends live. :) There are also endless ideas for crafting! I think I might drive my husband crazy with all of the ones I share with him. haha!
I learned to crochet when I was 12, but didn't really start spending alot of time doing it until this year, since my mother has spent alot of time at the hospital with illness. It gives me something to pass the time, and I love to make things for my friends!
Aside from crafting and crocheting, I love photography and digital editing, and learning about scrapbooking!
I also collect old cookbooks.
My favorite activity is ZUMBA! I've been doing it for about 3 years now. So fun, and as a bonus I've lost 60 lbs!
I am an avid coupon clipper and a frugal Mom. I've slacked on it lately and need to get on it again!
... has always been green, but that might have changed since none of my clothing or colors in my house are green. I've been giving it some thought lately but just can't put a finger on a "favorite color".
I like all colors, I suppose..especially bright ones and "country colors"!
I also love anything that is crocheted and SOFT!
...knitpicks.com wool yarn. It is sooo soft...and affordable! I do use other yarns when I have them on hand.
I also collect cookbooks, especially vintage, and Willow Tree Angels.

We have 3 pets... A very spoiled puppy named Juliette. She is a Corig/Malti-poo mix, born at the end of May, 2011. Fun, playful, and rotten!
Our Blue Point Siamese cat's name is Nala. She is several years old and really likes to be the only pet in the house, so she's still getting used to Juliette. Sometimes they are like watching kids fight, during the day! The puppy just wants to play, Nala has no interest. Sigh...
MJ is our outside cat, who was a stray dropped off at a friend's house. He's huge and black with a white crest on his chest and is absolutely beautiful!
All of our animals are part of the family. I don't know how anyone could just drop their pet at a stranger's house or off on the side of the road, or even just give them away!
...Tea and coffee, "dark" things (emo, gothic, etc), and scratchy yarns.

Hey Nancy, in the swap you are hosting, I've noticed quite a few newbies and at least two of them haven't filled out their profiles and one hasn't logged in since joining. Thought I would give you that heads up as I love the swap you host regularly and don't want any disappointment for anyone. Cheers, Catherine.
Thanks for this awesome swap group, it was so much fun making the squares. Please keep me posted for any new granny squares swaps you might have!
