Love to travel and visit wineries, eat, drink and shop! My kids are off to college, so I party at home...the local martini queen!! I love my home and garden and working to make them look good, although, not always successfully. I love to cook, though would not call myself a great cook. I love to entertain, but in west coast casual style.
I live in the Willamette valley of Oregon with my husband and a very fat furry cat called Zweibel (that\\'s supposed to be onion in German?) kind of a cool word my daughter heard on the streets of Czech and somehow it became the cat\\'s name!?!!??
I DO NOT LIKE: overly cutesy (cartoon, hello kitty, etc), erasers, pencils, patches, stickers or ATCs Knick nacky things that do not serve a purpose..I am not a clutter person with things all over my house or garden!
FOOD ALLERGY (REALLY AN INTOLERANCE) I am undergoing testing for celiac disease, so I am avoiding anything with gluten. This is really tough for a carbo queen! However, I have very good luck in finding most chocolate gluten free! I do have to watch the labels on licorice as many contain gluten. But, if something contains gluten, I can always bribe my computer boys with it
I do have pierced ears (1 per), but am a little sensitive to some metals. I do not wear themey earrings, nor really, really long ones. I do not have very many earrings.
Things I like -good chocolate, licorice -teas and especially coffees, no decaf or hazlenut (I do love hazlenuts, but not things hazlenut flavored -good thrift finds for my home that are useful -buttons (not kind I get tons of off my husbands old shirts)vintage style or unusual -ladies hankies -cool handmade thank you cards, thank you postcards, notecards (my stamping, paper type skills are limited!) -pretty ribbons that can be used on clothing -embrodery patterns -usable soft vintage pillow cases or sheets..I find them at goodwill(for aprons, pillows) -fat quarters of of some new fabrics (Good quality!!!) -rick rack..all sizes
I love shiny, sparkling glass. I do collect old (check out garage sales and thrift shops) glass candlestick holders)
I enjoy good scented soaps (organic, handmades, or speciality)
I avoid walmart with a passion (it is not good for the economy or independents!!) If this is your only source, that is ok (I know what it is like, my son went to school in starksville miss, that was shopping ground zero at the time!)
Anything but rap, not sure on most alternative, picky on classic, but love techo, country, show tunes... I can not burn CD's and would love some for my car (I love to sing along) there have been some great soundin' CD swap here! I would love the concert I missed..Cher and Cyndy Lauper!!!
The Big Easy, mystery suspence, romance, but not drippy! Rarely sit still long enough to watch a full movie
NCIS, Law and Order, Food Channel and HGTV
Quilting (QUALITY fabric..too much time and $ are put into a quilt to use cheap crap!), sewing, decorating, gardening, cooking. Very basic knitting (actually remedial) Boy,do those ugly dish rags I learned to knit on, wear like no other!!! I have started doing some paper crafts and stamping...love ribbons, trims, stickers, and other unique fuufaas for that.
To Kill a Mockingbird all time fav!!
Love mysteries expecially one that make me think and I can not read in a day. Especially would love old copies of Marie Claire Idees!!
How I rate...I will be honest...I am becoming more picky..last week I sent out 15 swaps, got 3 back. One was garbage...and that was were it ended up!!
There are no kids at my house, so I really have no use for childrens' things.
If it looks like you just threw items together...I will tell you so in the rating. If it is late and you have not contactd me by the send date, you will most likely get a 3. Communication is a good thing!!! Yes, I have sent a couple swaps late, but I ALWAYS contact the receipent. If you mark sent and you haven't sent when you accidently hit the button, let me know, or I will assume I am being scammed again. I am quickly becoming very disillusioned with the quality of items some people send...just call me swappy bitch!!
