I'm living in the Top End of Oz, monsoonal storms and plenty of sunshine. My partner's one-eyed dog likes to sit under the table when I sew. I am a little bit obsessed by paisley fabrics, like to quilt but only using colours and recycled fabrics. I have been trying out soft toy animals with felt and fabric. I am a visual Artist but have really only focussed on making Artists' books of late, although printmaking and ceramics are my love. I'm living in the 'outback' and would love to make contact with like minds!
I've been advised to make my profile longer so I guess that I need to spill some secrets... I have six suitcases of fabric, classified by colour, pattern and texture. Sometimes I like to sit on the floor when its raining and reclassify my suitcases. It calms me down. I have discovered that cutting things up into smaller pieces and putting them back together is very reassuring. I therefore make quilts and mosaics and collage artists' books and am hoping that if everything gets sorted then this will somehow be an analogy for my life. Here's hoping.
I live in a shed, with half a water tank for a pool. There are lots of palm trees and shrubs around and I'm on 20 acres of bush. My partner drives a loader (think big tractor) and is always interested in what I make! We have a one-eyed dog with half an ear... long story! I have just taken possession of a red fluffy puppy called Rufus. Very Cheeky! I live in Australia which means there are quarrantine restrcitions on what you can send http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail
I'm an Art teacher. I teach people to make stuff and hope that they feel good about making it. I particularly like printing onto fabric and making banners to display student work. My majors were Printmaking and Ceramics but now I mostly make Artists' Books, journals and lino printing. The Art room in my new job has a press, so I might get back into some kind of intaglio soon.

disney, cruelty to animals, black synthetic fabrics, boredom, spider webs, mouldy coffee cups, and that rather big rat running around on the roof at night. Bitching, seriously people, some of us actually have a life that involves, well, living. Swatbot is not my 'world', if I haven't logged in for a whole week then there really is no need to dis me publicly- I have never not swapped although sometimes might be late in rating- blame our local PO not me! Bitching has actually stopped me swapping for a little bit but I think I'm ready to get back into it... I took some time out to send letters to my real life friends, I'd recommend this to anyone.
