I'm a jack of all trades and a master of nothing! I paint, draw, cut, color, collage, sculpt, and decorate.
I'm a scientist, a thinker, a dreamer, a pragmatist, a cynic, an optimist, and am finally confident enough to say.. I am an ARTIST!
I work in forensics and love all things related to science, the medical field, and vintage detectives and criminal investigation.
I love love LOVE to collage! I typically work on canvas or upcycle found substrates for larger pieces (anything up to 3 or 4 feet) but I'm also a big fan of art journaling, artist trading cards, & funky mail art. Cut it! Paste it! Paint it! That's my motto :)
I love to use a variety of techniques and am always looking for new ways to learn and experiment.
I love to explore the darker, macabre, morbid, and just creepier side of things and juxtapose them with items of beauty.
I incorporate science into almost all of my artwork through technical drawings, schematics, vintage biological illustrations, macro photography, and human/animal anatomical illustrations.
Images of the human body contorted into any variety of beautiful ways (mostly black and white)
Avant garde art and fashion photography
Small handmade envelopes
Glazes or glazing mediums
I absolutely LOVE Basic Grey brand scrapbooking papers, especially the Obscure, Sublime, and Recess collections but these are super hard to find now. I'd love to do a private trade for these if anyone has these.
Liquid and spray inks
Vintage papers/book pages
Foreign language papers/book pages
Stencils
Alcohol markers, paint pens, watercolor pencils/pens/markers (new or used, as long as they still have some life left in them)
Antique medical, dental, veterinary, or biology images, advertisements, or ephemera
RUB-ONS!! I absolutely love the Basic Grey Olio's but they must have stopped making these
Alice in wonderland-esque supplies (just not playing cards - I already have every size, shape, color, and theme imaginable)
Transparencies and transparent images
Embossing powders
For all you die-cutting machine addicts... I make art with layer upon layer upon layer! I would love handfuls of paper die-cuts in swirly shapes, silhouettes (people or plants), outlines of various geometric shapes, lacy papers, flowers, and again... lots of swirly shapes! :) I use them for background texture. Paper doilies are so thin though that they're practically useless for my needs.
The types of stickers I like and use the most are ones that I can easily incorporate into collages or are just plain funky and cool :)
Design elements
Stickers on clear backing
Swirls, whorls, abstract shapes
Anything you might expect in a Tim Burton movie (the odd and unusual)
Vintage stickers from the 80's and early 90's!!! I love cartoons from this era
Pretty much anything except preschool age kiddie stickers or superhero stickers.
Scrapbooking phrase/word/title stickers
Brads, eyelets, or ribbons
Letter stickers (I have a huge tupperware box of them!)
Religious themed items.
Cutesy, country kitsch - little girls with bonnets/roosters/buckets of flowers/geese - you know what I mean
Candy wrappers/food wrappers
I don't use buttons. I don't like buttons. Please don't send buttons
Used postage
I really don't care for tea or hot cocoa. But I'd never say no to real chocolate!

Hi Courtney - Did you get the "Artistically Inclined Envelopes"? I know you haven't been online, but please if you see this, let me know if you got them or not.
Are you ok?
Thank you for the lovely work in the AMA:Mystery Supply Swap #1. Love it.
Happy Halloween!
Oh. My. Gosh. Thank you so much for the RAK! How awesome to get a truly random bit of amazing happy mail! As soon as I saw the envelope I was all googly-eyed! I recognized some of the stickers! :) I loved it all! You totally made my week. #forreal If the envelope is any slight indication of the collage work you do, then wow, it's got to be stunning. Thank you again!!!!
Hope youre having a great weekend!

Thank you a million times over for the lovely stickers you sent! Thank you for angeling for the Nifty 150 Stickers swap. And thank you for the postcard and the sweet note. To answer your question, no, the experience with the flaker did not scare me away from swapbot, but it's made me less naive, and more careful for when I host swaps. :) Question for you: are you a lefty? I ask because of your handwriting. I'm a lefty.
I can't remember if I thanked you for the C+P postcards so sorry if this is a double message! I really like the card you made. It's fun to see how you used the supplies. Thanks again!!
