I am the wife of one hardworkingsonofagun and the mother of two very smart, beautiful, loving and caring preteen girls. I work in the medical field at a medium sized community hospital. 12 hour shifts but only 3 days a week. I am NOT a nurse. I am a Respiratory Therapist.
I enjoy creating, home improvement and quilting. I have recently been spending time stripping multiple layers of wallpaper off our 115 year-old home's interior walls. (causing me to have some carpal tunnel symptoms...) I am trying, slowly, to create a breezy cottage-like Better Homes and Gardens type feel to our home.
I am regularly inundated with 4th and 6th grade girls..my home seems to be a favorite gathering place for my kids friends and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I enjoy simple cooking...usuallly nothing more than salt pepper chili powder and garlic come out of my spice cabinet. I cook by "feel" the way my mom and aunts taught me. I have just started to try to learn how to bake bread. I have had some success (and some fails!)
This past summer, I finished the Harry Potter series and loved it! I am wondering what I can read now that is similar is style and subject. I am now on the waiting list at the library for the book she wrote for adults. Any other ideas? The Lemony Snickets series was suggested, what do you think?
I have read almost every Stephen King book there is. (this is what I thought, then I discovered the slew of short stories he has out for e-readers!)
I like LOOKING at magazines just to try to find home renovation ideas. I rarely ever READ them!
I enjoy sewing small bags, quilting (although lately my sewing machine has been quiet, and my sander has been noisy!)
I do a little stamping, some small crafts with the kids..everything really, not much I don't enjoy from time to time.
I just finished making some Ball Jar hanging lights for over the sink in the kitchen. Easy, and cool!
I spend most of my tv time watching DIY and HGTV type shows. My husband likes CSI and those kind of shows..so I watch them sometimes even if I don't want to. I also end up watching Spongebob, Good Luck Charlie and other kid stuff like that. Lately the family has been on a "Reba" kick!
Are you ready for some FOOTBALL??!?!
MY "LIKES":
I have a notepad ADDICTION!!!
I like quality handmade stuff..(not expensive ...just made with care!)
I LOVE Petunias, but can't find seeds...do you have some you can "lend" me? (moosephysch sent me some..thanks! (I could always use more!)

MY "NOTSOMUCH".

I do not like snottiness, ongoing laziness and lack of common sense.
I don't like other people's trash.
I don't like getting stuff in an envelope without a personal note or messsge of some sort.
Not so into religious items.
Not so into "beachy" items.
I do like black, but not so into gothic stuff.
I don't like coffee.
Not so into purple.
Don't like Fred (the hamster).
Not so into Charlie's shedding!
I don't need any buttons..floss..beads..and little crafty stuff..I have tons I collected when I was heavy into scrapbooking.
