My name is Jessica, I'm 23, and happily married to a creative, wonderful guy named Thaddeus.
I have a dog, cat, and two turtles at home. And I work part-time as a pet care technician at a pet resort. Animals play a very important role in my life.
I live in a rural town in North Carolina. But I'm originally from the Washington, D.C. area. I sorely miss the city, but I love the country too!
I am a Christian, and although that can mean different things to different people, I define my faith as living out God's love for others. And I do believe God has a sense of humor. ;) I don't consider myself pushy about my faith, and I've never been told I was either. I'm open for faith related conversation, but will never push it upon a person, or try to make someone feel uncomfortable.
I don't care to talk about politics. :)
I have fallen in love with ATC's and hope to swap! I will put any ATC or collage swaps I receive in a frame and display them in my home.
I'm outgoing but also shy. Creative, fun, and determined. I can change my mind alot too. I love going out with friends, but also love a quiet afternoon with a good book and my dog. I love to sit outside and think, read, or just do nothing.
I have a wild imagination.
I believe love is an action that you can do for someone else.
For some reason, I find solace in the identity of my Irish & Scottish ancestors. It makes me feel a part of something.
I'm always reading something.
I read purely for the fun of it. I read to be entertained and transported to someplace else, that's why I love fiction.
I secretly wish I lived during Tudor or Victorian England, or the 1920's.
Colors: Purple (both light and very dark) and brown. And autumn tones.
Animals: Bears, Dogs, Cats, Bunnies, Turtles, you name it.
Movies: Kingdom of Heaven. Braveheart. Phantom of the Opera. Almost Famous. Love Actually. 3:10 To Yuma. Desperado. Bobby. A good drama is my favorite. Also period pieces. I get caught up in costume and scenery.
Books: Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. Marley and Me by Josh Grogan. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. The Painted Veil by W. Somerset Maugham. The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. I've forgotten how much I loved the old Nancy Drews when I was a kid- they're definately favorites too! I LOVE fiction, especially historical fiction. And if it comes out as a movie, I will definately read the book first.
Music: I listen to a mixture of contemporary Christian and Christian Rap (my huband's doing). But I really like Oldies.
Scents: Vanilla. Rose. Jasmine. Lemon. Orange. Cinnamon.
Food: Cupcakes, cookies, and sweets! Chocolate. Buffalo wings. Ice cream. Root Beer. Veggies. Hot Tea. Gourmet coffee. Hot chocolate. I try lots of differnt recipes for dinner and so far my favorite is Cheeseburger Pie.
Season: Autumn.
Flowers: Jasmine. Tulips. Roses.
Holiday: probably Christmas. When I pull out that big box of decorations and ornaments, I get so excited and nostalgic. I think of all the things I used to do as a kid, and no other holiday makes me feel that way.
I collect: Teddy bears. Books. ATC's. Bracelets and bangles. Photographs. Owl things. Vintage Winnie the Pooh.
Miscellaneous: I like to find 4 leaf clovers, and I'm good at it too. I love purses. I love photography. Flip-flops and jeans. Unique tattoos. Collages. Suprises. Bracelets. Playing with makeup. Pedicures, but I prefer clear polish or none at all for my hands.
Anything sweet pea scented!
Cheap metal jewelry b/c I have a nickel/plated steel allergy, but plastic is OK.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I expect inexpensive things. Also, these are just idea starters. Be creative!
ATC's made by you!
Handmade Bracelets. (I love them, but unfortunately I'm not very good at making my own, and my skin allergies make it difficult to buy handmade jewelry. The stretcy bracelets are a favorite, and sterling silver parts are fine too. I also like bracelets made from ribbon, cloth or yarn/string.)
Books. (Used or New, makes no difference to me. Send me something you enjoyed! I'm also on the lookout for the old blue and yellow Nancy Drew hardbacks.)
Nice Writing Pen/ Unique pens. (I like ballpoint a lot.)
Lipgloss/Lip balm.
Handmade postcards.
Stickers for crafts.
Cardstock or images for ATC's.
Stationary. (I can't find any around my town.)
A really cool photograph that you took
Recipes
Single tea bags
Anything you're willing to share!
