Aye up me duck! (or 'hello', as you might say).
If your familiar with the greeting then you'll know that i'm from Nottingham, in the East-Midlands of U.K where you cannot say 'me duck' enough! I moved 'down south' to Hertfordshire to study a BA(Hons) in Typography & Graphic Design at the University of the Arts, London in which I graduated in 2008.
I live in a beautiful little cottage with a chocolate box view of our local church. I'm awaken cheerfully every Sunday with the sounds of it's bells. My husband and I love to take our energetic Jack Russell, Button for walk in the nearby woods and fields.
Soon there will be another addition to our family with our baby boy due December.
I have a passion for preloved items and can often be found rummaging around the local charity shops looking for that perfect something. Each piece has its own unique history, its wear and tear tell a story of its past
I used to be registered with swap-bot in 2007, and loved meeting new friends through swaps and learning new crafts and techniques. I'm hoping that I can be re-inspired and get my crafting juices flowing again!
I love collecting vintage children's books mainly for the illustrations.
I collect anything alice in wonderland! I have several versions of the book - and i am always on the look out for more!
I love knitting and am currently learning how to crochet - I would always appreciate any wool
I do a lot of hand embroidery, and I'm in the middle of 2 big cross stitch projects. I tend to use anchor threads but would appreciate any skeins of colour or special threads.
I do alot of sewing and i am always looking to add fabrics and ribbons to my stash. I'm going to try quilting which is something that i've been wanting to do for quite some time - i'd love any bits of cotton fabric in any colour or size.
I'm pretty easy and love most things but below is a little overview of my favourites
Animals: Dogs (black and white Jack Russells especially), Stags / deer, Foxes, Mice/Rats, Birds
British-ness: I love anything traditionally 'british' union jacks, london buses, phoneboxes etc.
Wood: old wooden boxes
Food and Drink: Flavoured tea.
Craft items: Cotton fabrics, wool/yarn, skeins/embroidery thread, ribbons, buttons, origami paper.
Colours: I love all colours but my favourites are Purple, black, Hot pink, Spring Green. I tend to prefer bright and bold colours over pastels.
Stamps: I collect stamps! I have a great big bag of stamps which i am sorting through. At the moment I am focusing on GB commemoratives but would love plants/animals of other countries.
