26 Oct ‘24 Today I received just the ripped front of an envelope in the mail. Purple envelope with a doughnut sticker, purple and black washi tape and an orange address label. The top left corner is ripped off but I can read ‘ss St’ and underneath, 63118. If this was from you, let me know. I’m sorry but the Mail ate your item 😥
I’m a compulsive crafter from the UK. Since I retired early I am usually to be found in my studio making ATCs, postcards, jewellery, polymer clay, gelli prints, journals, quilts etc. I am always trying out new crafts and if I like them they get added in to the rota of projects during the year. I make things just for the fun of seeing how they turn out. I never make any effort to sell things so swapping is the ideal outlet.
My art style is bright. I can’t seem to do neutrals or overly lacy, although I do try and sometimes it happens. Some of my jewellery is pretty and sweet. Some of it is bright statement pieces. I used to make for work colleagues so would challenge myself to make something they would wear to work and matched the designs to their personalities. Luckily I also love eclectic gatherings of things that have meaning. I’m definitely not a matchy matchy kind of person. ( All my plates and bowls are different. Fun but they don’t stack very well). I like the idea of putting together a journal with all different styles of items from swaps.
My favourite items are things that say something about the giver, their hobbies and obsessions, and the more unusual the better. I love to look through postcards from interesting places or admire quirky little things I’ve acquired.
Collecting: Tickets/book pages etc. especially in languages other than English, ATCs, Wax seals, Fabric scraps, Gelli print papers, Hand made beads made of paper, polymer clay, air dry clay, anything that you use to make beads. Handmade buttons, Zines about anything, Junk journal items, Decoupage napkins, Small stickers I can decorate postcards with.
Thank you to anyone who swaps with me. Have a lovely day.
