I love to make things! I've been especially into fiber arts, mostly knitting and sewing lately. But, I like to try all different kinds of crafts. I really enjoy getting an idea, figuring out how to execute it and having a finished product that I'm proud of. This is for crafting, gardening, cooking, home repair, pretty much all things. I have a job where the most creative I get is creating powerpoint presentations or excel spreadsheets. So, I like to try new creative endeavors as an outlet. I live in Portland, OR and feel so very fortunate that I do. I love that I'm surrounded by creative and passionate people. I love how progressive it is here. I love that so many beautiful natural areas are at my disposal. I love that on the whole, the community around me really cares about the environment and each other. I have two large and very naughty dogs who only I can love and two very mellow (obviously) desert tortoises who are the coolest pets around.
I love all kinds of music from classical to hip hop, to music from around the world. I'm not so much into newer country but my dad taught me an affinity for old cowboy music. Teeny bopper top 40 is my not so secret shame.
I don't think I've met a craft I didn't like. Wait, crochet, I just don't get it. But, it's not because I haven't tried. I love to learn about new crafts and try them out. Lately though I've been mostly into fiber arts, knitting and sewing. I also love to get my hands dirty in the garden and take photos, often of the flowers I grow.
I love... -- tiny things (for example, buttons: regular size = ok, tiny = ADORABLE, it's true for all things for me!) -- making homemade ice cream -- DIY home improvements -- animals, especially woodland type creatures -- being eco savvy -- sunshine (with sunblock!) -- floating down a river -- hiking to a waterfall -- early morning coffee before anyone else is up -- curling up in the hammock (especially after gardening so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor) -- getting lost in a good book
