Stasia

I live in Alameda, in the San Francisco Bay Area, in California, surrounded by art supplies, cats and family. I'm in school to be a nurse, and spend much too much time working on making things. I sew, quilt, knit, make books (full sized as well as miniature), read, draw... I'm also a photo-nut - I never go anywhere without my camera.

My husband and I like to go on driving vacations; we drive into Nevada or up to Northern California and see what we can find. It's fun to see how many new things we see each time. Our daughter doesn't like to come with us as much (she's 16 and would rather stay with friends), so we don't go as often as we like. I love to collect small bits of memorabilia from our travels, and often make books or pocket books to hold and display the things I find.

I like bright colors and fun textures, but I'm not attracted to cutesy things - for example, my favorite color combination for baby blankets is charcoal and lemon yellow.
