I am a grad student, mother, and writer from North Alabama. I'm interested in meeting new people from around the world (and closer to home). I enjoy creative writing, reading, blogging, archery, cooking, gardening, crafting, birding, and photography...to name a few things.

Anything by Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Wilkie Collins, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, E.A. Poe.

I love Victorian novels...whether they were written during that era or by modern authors like Margaret Atwood or Anne Perry.

Modern fiction is fine...although I'm not into popular fiction, unless it's YA.

I'm also a huge fan of memoir/personal essays, especially the works of David Sedaris, John Jeremiah Sullivan, David George Haskell, Susan McCallum-Smith...among others.

I love various forms of crafting, especially jewelry making, weaving, sewing, paper crafts, painting, etc. I love Haida art...and Pacific Northwestern Tribal art.

Waking Ned Devine, BBC productions of classic novels (Pride and Prejudice, etc.), Beowulf, Twilight movies, Underworld.

I love classic horror movies (monster movies), especially werewolf movies.
