HeyI ALL...I am so sorry that I havent been in touch. My health hasnt been real good lately..and we have had so much car trouble then our internet went out and then the computer went out...needless to say..I am extremely sorry for getting behind . I think I have gotten caught up except for one tag..and that will be done this week for the alphabet tag!!
I'm a pretty laid back, honest and fun person. I live in the country on the red dirt roads of South Georgia My daughter, Kerri and I love the mountains and go every chance we get, We've been as far as Utah..but our dream is to make it to Montana and the Dakotas... Im allergic to most animals and have a bichon/poodle that we got from the local humane center that we absolutely adore!!. He is such a smart (spells out the word so he wont hear me LOL)DOG and is wonderful company for me. I love crafts of all kinds...sewing, scrapbooking and paper crafts are probally my favorite..but I will try anything once!! I have three aquariums....a 75 gal. with angel fish, a 55 gal with guppies and neons and a cory cat and a 29 gal I use as a nursery for for the new babies. I was diagnosed with Chronic Hepatitis C in 2006.and have been on all available treatments since then... although the treatments are really horrible and very similar to chemo...they put me in remission for a few months..but it is back now and the count is too high to measure...The next step for me is to be put on the Transplant list. Due to the severity of the disease and severe symptoms..I am now on Disability, I stay in pain almost constantly..but have learned to fight through it The biggest blow from it was not being able to work anymore..so I now fill my time doing small crafts and working around the house and trying to keep a positive attitude!. Im a Air Force brat..and have a huge respect and love for our Military men and women. I LOVE Stormy weather...the stormier the better!!! I will ALWAYS send out my swaps and usually do it early..if for some reason you dont get a rating from me..Please let me know..I will correct it. I rate fairly and honestly. I dont like to get pkgs late..It seems most of the swap rules give us plenty of time to get the pkg together and mail with out being late. So if its late its a 3 without a really good reason. I do know that life happens and things get in the way..so please let me know if its going to be late.
I'm still kinda new to swap-bot..but I am loving it. The people here are super nice and helpful. The swaps are amazing...I enjoy the Tags, group swaps and the Private Ones...so if you wanna have fun and do some swapping..Come On In!!! I am always up for a Pivate Swap... I just had my first FLAKE and hopefully my last!! NAMESAREFUN flaked on a private swap we set up.....I sent her two yards of beautiful material..and she never sent me her part which was to be scapbooking materials.!! So swapper beware!!
I have been cooking for as long as I can remember and love it. I cook a lot from scratch and like to experiment with recipes. I started collecting cookbooks many years ago. I especially love the ones that are put out by churches and clubs and schools. Those are the ones that you find the family recipes treasures in. My greatest treasure is both my grandmothers cookbooks...complete with hand written notes and food stains. Italian is my favorite and then Mexican. But you cant beat good ole country home cooking either! My daughter and I love to get in the kitchen together and see what ingredients we have..and then go from there. I keep all our favs in a blank cookbook for her to have later on.
Ive always had an interest in the past..I'm the child that would always be underfoot of my grandparents and uncles and aunts listening to them talk about growing up and all of their adventures...I have my family tree on my moms side back to the 1600's..and my dads back to the 1700's... and I do volunteer lookups in our genealogy section of the library...it is one of the greatest treasure hunts you ever go on. The older I get the more I appreciate all the info I have collected...most of the older members of the family are gone now..and all I have are their notes and pictures...and I have slowly realized that what they were to me is now what I am to my daughter. And I am trying to make her search easier than mine was.
My wants and needs are few and simple...
