NOTE (5/25/2011): I have returned from vacation, and am recharged and ready to make more ATCs! The beach was glorious, and totally worth the sunburn :D
Salutations!
You can call me S. Raccoon (just "S" or "Raccoon" is fine, too). It's obviously not my real name, but I'm kind of giddy about having a "secret" identity to go with my shiny, new PO box. I have a strong affection for raccoons, and used to do volunteer work with them at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I may also resemble one in some aspects. Did you know that raccoons are one of the most omnivorous animals on the planet?
I'm fond of many different foods myself, and briefly co-owned a food business with a friend of mine. For the moment, I have just completed a second bachelor's degree (Visual Art, the first was in Medieval Studies, which is exactly as useful as it sounds), while I work as a data entry clerk and contemplate the possibility of either grad school, or taking 6 months off to finish writing a novel.
I have fairly eclectic personal preferences, and like both cute and creepy things (or a combination). I have a quirky, offbeat style, and am not easily offended, so don't worry about sending me something odd or profane. Of course, I would never send a swap partner anything off-color without an invitation to do so.
I don't smoke, and dislike the smell of cigarettes, although I'm not allergic to them. I'm not allergic to anything, in fact. My house is a nightmare for those with severe pet or gluten allergies, though. If you have a life-threatening allergy to either of those things, we may have to find you a different swap partner.
I love animals, and live with an enormous dog, three cats, and a gerbil. I also recently started a 29 gallon tropical fish tank. Right now it contains some plants and 9 diamond tetras. I hope to also add a pearl gourami and either some panda corys or otocinclus catfish.
I recently picked up a copy of Good Mail Day, and it made me so nostalgic for the letter-writing I used to do, back in the 90s, that I decided to revive the habit. I also have a penchant for fiction writing, illustration, and bookbinding, so I plan to write and illustrate some flash fiction mail art. I think that would be great fun.
I apologize in advance for my messy handwriting! I draw much better than I write, but I'll see what I can do to improve my skills. It's usually legible, at least, if not elegant...
My PO box is a little bit out of the way, so I may only check it once or twice a week. Please bear with me if I take a few extra days to rate you, I probably just haven't made it to the post office yet.
If you don't receive your package from me on time, or if it's not what you were expecting please let me know and I will do whatever I can to make it right. I sincerely want my swap partners to be happy.

Greetings! I am going back in time and tracking my swaps' origins and destinations. I was the recipient of the lovely Kelpie on your profile page. Can you tell me your city/state? If you want more anonymity, that is fine...just the state will do. Thanks so much!
Hello,
I'm just popping by to ensure that you received the colour feast ATC (sent back in June). If I don't hear from you I will assume you recieved it. :0)
Hallo SRaccoon, I sent you a message. Unfortuneately you did not replied. I have not received the "Hand drawn/Painted ATC"June Sender's Choice. It had to be sent by the 30th of June. So I think I waited long enough. I hope you are doing well.
Hi, my Freak Show shrine has not yet arrived. Is it on its way? Thanks!
Welcome to the hand drawn/painted ATC group. I look forward to getting to swap with. I hope you find many wonderful swaps to enjoy with the group. Happy swapping
Welcome to swap-bot, Raccoon! I enjoyed reading your profile--I think you're gonna find lots of common interest with folks here. I, too, got all excited when I read Good Mail Day. And I adore "A Fish Called Wanda." Anyway, 'just thought I'd welcome you to a great place for increasing the flow of cool stuff arriving in your mailbox... =grin=
