I'm an avid:
beader & jewelry making (beaded crochet, off-loom, stringing, etc.)
knitter (fabric, freeform, socks, etc.)
paper & mixed media artist (altered books, artist journals, ATCs, card making, collage, faux postage, inchies, etc.)
Polymer Clay (PC) artist (beads, faux techniques, knitting needles, millefiori canes, mold making, pins, etc. etc. )
I recently discovered Zentangles (www.zentangle.com) and love the addition of meditation (Zen) to my life long practice of doodling (tangle). The doodling was passed down to this left-hander, from my left-handed Mother who got it from her left-handed Mother (my grandmother!).
I like to dabble in: crochet, cross-stitch & embroidery, needle felting & machine fulling, sewing, stamp carving, watercolor painting.
I have experience teaching classes and hope to return to teaching PC techniques in the future.
My occupation is Information Technology (computers). I have several decades of experience with the bits 'n bytes.
In my spare time, my long-term hubby (30+ years) and I are both stamp collectors and run a small First Day Cover & Stamp business called Nokomis Collectibles (www.nokomiscollectibles.com). I like to combine real or faux postage into most of my mix media pieces.
My avocation is combining the above interests to make beautiful objects. Swapping enhances this experience. I look forward to sharing my efforts with you and look forward to being inspired by your items in return.
An artist, computer geek, and philatelist what a mix!
I'm an active member of several Philatelic groups including the American Philatelic Society (www.stamps.org), plus art groups including the Minnesota Knitters Guild (www.knitting.org) , Polymer Clay Guild of Minnesota (www.pcgmn.org) , Upper Midwest Bead Society (www.umbs.org). These three groups meet at the Textile Center of Minnesota (www.textilecentermn.org). A truly magical place for artists in Minnesota.
I like most genres of music. AC/DC, Beatles, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Grateful Dead, Handel, Michael Jackson, James Taylor and many many more......
Gosh it is hard to name them all.... off the top of my head ..."Forever Amber" by Kathleen Winsor, "Portrait of Jennie" by Robert Nathan, All the Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by Brian Selznick

Hi! I just wanted to say thank you so much for joining my Penguins of Madagascar swap. I've just assigned partners, so I hope you will have fun making your card and like the one that you receive! :)
I honestly dont know the technical difference between the different cardstock thicknesses, you just need to make inchies sturdy enough that they arent going to rip or tear, and so that it is easy for someone to display them.
