I am married with no children and one cat. I work full time, attend church and spend my free time either watching TV or doing something crafty. I love to create things and have a large variety of passions that help fuel that desire.
I love to go camping. I am a middle of the line camper. I don't 'rough it' by hiking miles into my camp site, but I don't have a trailer either. We sleep in a tent and go without a shower for a couple of days. And I love every minute of it.
I have been teaching one of the preschool classes at the church I attend for a little over three years. And I love it.
I keep score for my husband's softball team,. I used to play on a co-ed team, but I learned I am a much better spectater then I am a player.
I have one cat named Chones. Someday I would like two Bassett Hounds named Roscoe & Lulu or a German Shepherd named Iams.
I was and will always be a band geek. I played the clarinet for five years and the trumpet for two. Marching band was my favorite part of high school.
Occasionally I scrapbook and make cards, although definitely not as much as I'd like. I enjoy taking photos and would love to develop a better eye for it. I taught myself to crochet last year and would like to learn to knit this year. I am having trouble mastering two needles. My most favorite craft is sewing. Eventually I'd like to be able to sew my own clothes, but for now I am tackling the easy things (and the occasional challenge).
Most of the music I listen to is something I first heard on a commercial or on a television show. That said some of my favorites right now are Mixtape by Butch Walker, Lie In The Sound by Trespassers William, Feel This by Bethany Joy Galeotti & Bruises by Chairlift
I enjoy reading historical fiction and some chic-lit. I am not a big fan of Harlequin romances but love a good love story. I prefer books that allow me time to get to know the characters and to miss them when I'm done reading.
I also enjoy reading devotionals.
I really enjoy a wide range of movies...comedy, action, drama, suspense...but I don't care for horror, sci-fi or vulgar comedy. Some of my favorite movies are 10 Things I Hate About You, The Notebook, The Story of Us & We Were Soldiers.
Television is definitely my guilty pleasure. I am so thankful for my DVR. When I have the time I watch One Tree Hill, NCIS, Without A Trace, CSI New York, Criminal Minds, Numb3rs, Burn Notice, Army Wives & Bones.
My favorite colors are pale yellow and red (Coke can red...M&M red).
I also like the combo of brown & pink and brown & blue.
I like the scent of things that are warm and 'homey'; vanilla, apple and line dried sheets.
My favorite candies are Reese's peanut butter cups and raisinets.
My favorite places to shop are JoAnns, Hobby Lobby & Wal-Mart...although occasionally I do also shop at Michaels and Target.
My favorite restaurants are Wendys & the Olive Garden.
My favorite flowers are Gerber Daisies.
I collect nativity sets, state spoons, wooden spools of thread, aprons (the older the better) and small quilts (baby crib or lap size).
My kitchen is done in black/white/red/stainless steel...a diner motif.
My 'studio' will be decorated in tropical colors (Aqua blue, pink, orange, lime green, etc.) and Lilo & Stitch.
I like signs with witty/fun sayings, such as 'Laundry. Drop your drawers here.' or 'Nobody gets in to see the wizard. Not no one. Not no how.'
I like things vintage, retro & kitschy.
I love the decor of the 50's (the sunburst atomic wall clocks, the vinyl chairs...).
I do not like the 'country' color pallette (maroon, mustard, hunter & navy)
I do not like the scent of anything heavily citrus scented (allergies) or anything really woodsy, deep or musky.
I do not like 'hard' candy bars, like butterfinger.
I do not like seafood, Chinese food or Mexican food.
I do not like not having enough time, money or resources to finish the multitude of UFOs I have.
