Married for 30 years to my one and only love, I've worked professionally as a statistician most of my working life, while moving every three years as an USAF spouse. After spending years tutoring and home schooling my own daughters, I returned to the classroom, and taught middle school in an ideal situation in a classical Christian school. I have been quilting for 25 years, and find it is the perfect artistic complement to my mathematical mind. In 2012, I bought a longarm quilting system, and have launched my own business.
I am a very eclectic quilter in taste, but quite traditional in execution. I love art quilts. I love modern quilts. I love elaborate applique. I just don't actually make any of that. :)
What I do make are quick, pieced quilts, and machine quilt them myself. I've finished a few big quilts for myself in the last couple of years, and a lot of quilts for gifts, clients, and for charity.
I'm really enjoying the 1930s Farmer's Wife Quilt-Along with GnomeAngel. I haven't found any blocks I dislike so far, because they are all so cute at 6" in finished size. I'm primarily using my Bonnie & Camille scraps for the quilt, but have challenged myself to toss in some of my "precious" fabrics that I tend to save for the perfect project...which means they don't get cut into pieces before I wonder why I bought them! So, I've used my Angela Walters's Athena line of fabric for a couple (in navy/cream/gold) that match well enough with the B&C fabrics.
I'm easy to please. I like all the colors, and all the styles, and have never seen an ugly quilt. I kinda like the ones that are so ugly they are adorable.
