I live in Berlin, Germany, with a 7 year old aughter, husband, and cat, where I spend my free time making pictures, taking photos, reading, running, going to museums, listening to music, RPG roleplay, games, exploring the city and volunteering in a no kill cat shelter. Quite a bit of a geek apparently, especially when it comes to taste in pop culture and what I do with my free time.
FOR ALLERGIC FOLKS: We have a cat. She destroys all our home plants like it's her job, so the good news is, if you're not allergic against cats but against every plant that isn't cacti, you have nothing to fear... :(
Other than that - no pets, no smoking.

I read non-fiction as well as fiction, and everything from sheer entertainment to high literature. A few examples for non-fiction would be Tamim Ansary's "Destiny Disrupted", Eric Hobsbawm's work, a book about running, a book about cat behavior, books on cultures and history in general, "Love of Shopping Is Not a Gene" is one of my next. As for fiction, I am currently reading the Dresden files, I like a lot of good fantasy in general (if it's some original world writing and character writing). A wild brainstorming of characters would contain the unavoidable Tolkien, Nury Vittachi, Brecht, Irmgard Keun, Andrew Davidson, Zadie Smith, Kazuo Ishiguro, Kinky Friedman, Walter Moers, Terry Pratchett, Astrid Lindgren, Janet Fitch, Neil Gaiman, Umberto Eco, Toni Morrison, Jeffrey Eugenides, Muriel Barbery, Jonathan Safran Foer, Erich Fried, Ernesto Cardenal, etc pp.
Doctor Who, The Guild, Sherlock, The Daily Show, Scrubs, Futurama, Blackadder, Twin Peaks, 6 Feet Under, The X Files, Game of Thrones etc
Etching, Drawing, Mixed Media (although we don't seem to get the wide array of supplies for things like scrapbooking or ATCs over here that is being offered on the US and Canadian market! I'm regularly envious, and it's hard to get by payable, cool stuff, even in Berlin!), photography, everything I can get my hands on.
Things not to expect from me: I have no intense dislikes. But there's stuff I'm either not into myself, or that I'm really not good at. I'm not good at "cute" for example. I don't mind getting things one could consider cute or kawaai - if I don't know what to do with it, my daughter will gladly take it off my hands. We both have a cat spleen, so if it's cat related you can't go wrong.
Don't send foodstuff from outside the EU. I'd love to get it, but I don't know if custums approve. For the same reason, I will not send any food or plants. (Of course I'm not even taking part in swaps centered around these things in the first place, but you never know.)
We're open minded, but not religious.
I like nice scented stuff. I know others don't want it or can't have it - I love it. You can't go wrong with cats. (See above.) And I have a paper fetish.
I'll put effort in my swaps, promised.
But I'll not be swapping too often, because I'd rather put effort in few swaps than be overwhelmed by too many.
If you live abroad from me, please remember the snail mail takes it's time. if you wish, I can upload a picture of my part of the swap the day I pack it! It's a bit spoiling the fun, but at least you have more of a guess you haven't been flaked.
