Hello! 30-something female here. I enjoy reading three books at a time (of different genres), learning languages (I know some Spanish and Mandarin-write to me! ), watching Chinese and Kdramas(have you seen The Untamed and/or Navellera?!), making things, and typically getting out of my house!
I am low-key interested in foraging, cooking new things, animal antics, recurve bows, tea, and trying not to kill my plant friends. Someday I want to live in an rv, then on a small farm. I currently live with geese, rats, my partner, and his 13 year old.
I have a penchant for pushing the boundaries of sense for some of my envelopes in thickness. If you have postage due, please let me know! I'll send you something to make up for the annoyance. I'm trying to learn to NOT do this. >.
Stash-busting blanket crochet is the craft right now. I tend to cycle through different ones in turn. Knitting, crochet, macrame, envelope - making, chainmaille/metal work, beading, costuming..... sometimes I feel like cooking is more craft and sorcery than science.
Do you have a good warm weather read to recommend?
"Sunshine" by Robin McKinley
Daughter of the Empire (trilogy) by Janny Wurts and Raymond Feist
Other authors: Neil Gaiman, SM Sterling, Nick Bantock, Robin Hobb
I read a vast array of books. I enjoy non-fiction that is political, motivational, or how-to. I enjoy fantasy and science fiction best, I think, out of the fiction genres.
I'd appreciate if you used animal or plant stamps on your envelope/postcard (I collect them!)
Some themes I enjoy are: cute, edgy, horror, animals, fall, survivalist/homesteading, travel, geek, art, museums, cryptozoology, fortune-telling(runes, tarot, etc), apocalypse, Halloween, vintage, steampunk, grunge, political, environmental....
I love all sorts of surprises, but the standards I enjoy are : note cards, washi samples, stickers, stationery (sets or random pages), envelopes, postcards, drinkables, poems/art, tarot/reflection cards, and postage stamps.
I enjoy art and do not mind if you want to share yours with me through homemade cards, etc. Just please send me more than a postcard-sized cereal box cutout. (Did you add snarky commentary or stickers, for instance?)
I love tea, but not coffee. I drink loose - leaf and bagged teas and tisanes, so feel free to include either. I enjoy oolongs the most and licorice root the least. I am indifferent to hibiscus and flowery tastes. I go through a lot of chai and black tea in the mornings!
I also enjoy other bagged drink mixes such as cider, cocoa, and buttered rum.
My geese don't need anything, thank you, but the rats always enjoy new toys. These are usually made from materials such as cardboard, fleece, and wood.
The kiddo is a 13 year old boy. He's still into Legos, drawing comics, and Minecraft and reads books like water. His interests lead more towards science fiction themes (robots, space, star wars, Dr. Who) than fantasy, though he did enjoy Harry Potter.
My partner enjoys all things survival and tech right now. He's a computer gamer (on Steam, Warhammer, league of legends, rocket league, poker) who also enjoys making jewelry from charms or in chainmaille. He is a big fan of humor, oddities, randomness, and satanic/occult themes.
I'd love to hear about...
Any trips you've taken. I most enjoy specific details of a moment or experience, whether it was awful, amazing, or some cafe you happened to visit. Also, do you have any tips/warnings if I were to do the same?
Journaling/plannering/meal prepping. Do you do it? What works for you? What pitfalls have you run into that I should avoid?
What do you feel strongly about?
I collect stamps where the main subject is an animal or plant and have no country preferences. This includes birds, bugs, monsters, and mushrooms. Basically, anything alive that isn't strictly human. I prefer off paper, but I can remove them myself if you have awesome stamps on paper. ;)
If you don't have any plants/animals, I'm also interested in stamps showing some type of transportation (trains, planes, etc), that are mail-themed, incredibly cute (looking at you, Japan), or interesting to you (but you have to say why!).
