I LOVE COFFEE!

I am completely obsessed with coffee (addicted?). I collect coffee items (such as: coffee stickers, coffee magnets, artwork with coffee, coffee stamps, coffee paper, quotes and poems about coffee, and any other random coffee ephemera).

FAMILY:

I am the proud Mother of 2 adult children (a daughter and son), and grandma to 2 grandsons (and another on the way!!!). I have 2 amazing rescue dogs; Frankie is a chiweenie and was thrown out of a moving vehicle, shattering his back right leg. It is pinned back together and he has some mobility issues, but you'd never know it by the way he plays! Cooper is a terrier mix and the sweetest dog ever. He is SUCH a cuddle bug. He was beaten and left in a parking lot in Texas. Luckily he did not sustain any lifelong physical injuries. Janet is our little black cat and our youngest fur baby. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and when we got her, she was so malnourished that we weren't sure she would make it through the night. Thankfully, she is thriving now. My goal as a rescue Mom is to love them so much, they will forget anyone ever treated them unkindly.

Teaching:

I am currently a youth art instructor (cermaics and art enrichment). Prior to that, I spent over a decade in the Special Education field, as well as 3 years providing Community Treatment for youth and adults with severe mental illness.

TV:

Criminal Minds (Dr. Spencer Reid and Penelope Garcia are my favorite characters), Supernatural, Snapped, 20/20, Dateline (and spin-offs), 48 Hours Mystery, American Horror Story, Wednesday, Bridgerton, Stranger Things.

Colors:

BLACK AND WHITE PATTERNS, Anything glitter, Teal, Raspberry, Purples, Blues, Greens, Jewel Tones, Neon. I'm not fond of holiday patterned paper, but I will happily pass it on to someone who would enjoy it.

I also like to:

Go to the movies, visit local events, visit kitschy roadside attractions, go camping, visit art galleries and museums, PLAY DRUMS (and I am learning how to make my own hand drums), do art swaps and collaborations with other artists, attend music festivals AND CONCERTS, go to thrift stores/antique shops/flea markets and peruse old used bookstores, and I am a HUGE PLANNER NERD (The Create 365 Happy Planner brand).

Movies:

I mostly enjoy quirky-cute Indie Films, horror movies, documentaries and whatever piques my curiosity at that moment. Some of my favorites include: Watching the Detectives, Amelie, Edward Scissorhands, Coraline, The Conjuring 1 & 2, The Lovely Bones, Murder By Numbers, May, Perks of Being a Wallflower, American Psycho, Beetlejuice, Heathers, The Lost Boys, Super 8, I Madman, Silence of the Lambs, Taking Lives, Pan's Labyrinth, Warm Bodies, Tim Burton movies, David Lynch movies.

Critters & Animals

Flowers/Nature:

My favorite flower is the Iris (especially the big purple kind with yellow centers). I also appreciate ferns, rocks, crystals, lichen, moss, waterfalls, tiny streams, willow trees and driftwood. I am allergic to the fragrance of roses, but I admire their beauty and especially fancy the "fire and ice" variety.

Books:

I mostly read True Crime/Serial Killer Books or murder mysteries. Favorite authors include Cleo Coyle (Coffeehouse series), Erica Spindler, Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Gardner, Ann Rule, Nancy Bush, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allen Poe, Marie Rainer Rilke, Claudio Sanchez (Amory Wars), various art books (Traci Bunkers, Keri Smith, Jane Davies, Chris Cozen, Julie Prichard, Suzanne Simantis, etc), and various comics/graphic novels (The Maxx, Amory Wars, Chew, My Friend Dahmer). I have also illustrated two published children's books.

MuSiC:

I am OBSESSED with COHEED AND CAMBRIA. I also enjoy Long Distance Calling, The Piano Guys, The Vitamin String Quartet, Black Violin, Mothica, Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, AFI, Fugazi, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Incubus and so many more. I can't imagine life without music.
