I am a film major at the University of Kansas who is loving life and happily reveling in geekery. I'm a nerd, craft enthusiast, intellectual, bookworm, and Internet dweller, but above all, I'm a dabbler. I love trying new things and I do a bit of this and that all the time.
I am working on remedying the two "1" ratings on my profile. The last few months have been rough because of my depression, so please bear with me. I would like to avoid being labeled a flaker and I'm trying to up my overall rating once again.
"I'm going to do an internet! Whoa!" "I'm going to do a book! ...Aww." :c
Beading, wire, jewelry, sewing, making costumes/cosplay, mon-kiri, papercraft toys, scrapbooking, a little drawing, and some writing (mostly things that could become novels and the occasional short story). I hope to eventually learn how to knit/crochet and to finish and publish a novel.
I am also big on recycling stuff and I often cannibalize old parts from things to make new things. I find it fun to see how to go from a broken object to an awesome new thing, which is one of the reasons why I like the steampunk aesthetic so much.
Rock, alternative, classic rock, some metal, techno, electronica, dubstep, movie soundtracks; I'm always open to giving new music a try so I'm not limited to just these :)
(yes, I do like a lot of sci fi :P)

Hi! I thought I would post pics of what we had in common ;-)
Thank you for the magnet for the 'Something...' tag game! I really love the sentiment of 'Life is what you make it' and so does my mum. The style is also very cute and not something I'd be able to get over here in the UK so that's extra special. You've made my day!
Welcome to Newbie Mentors! I'll assign you a mentor and you will hear from her very soon!
