Early 30's mom to 1 toddler, live in South Florida and love that I can be at the beach with my bare feet in the sand in 15 minutes. Born in the midwest but consider myself a transplanted Floridian, I wear flip flops everyday.
I love everything about the Florida lifestyle except for tourists and snowbirds. Scuba, snorkeling, ocean kayaking, and wildlife scouting are favorites of mine, but I don't get to enjoy these things as often as I would like. I am very fond of the natural environment and value our ecosystems as precious and delicate. I try to leave a small footprint by doing my part with recycling, reducing, and reusing as much as possible. I just started purging all chemical cleaners from our home and I'm proud to have a cabinet full of homemade cleaning products!
My background is in psychology providing developmental therapy for familes affected by ASD. I used a lot of art and creative projects when working with my clients during therapy so it's always been a part of what I do in some way or another.
As much as I love living in the tropics, the Blue Ridge Mountains are my retreat. I love hiking in the woods, cooling off in mountain streams, and exploring waterfalls. I have been fortunate enough to vacation every year to my family's home away from home since I was a kid, now I get to share those experiences with my daughter strapped in a hiking pack.
My family and friends are my life. Having many of them that live far away I'm always packing for another trip, unpacking from a recent trip, or getting ready for someone to visit. As an LEO family, our lives can get pretty hectic but we love it.
Simple sewing, fabric applique, card making, online scrap booking, I used to do a lot of traditional scrap booking, crochet, embroidery, anything with markers and colored pencils, pencil sketching
I love to read and have recently become addicted to downloading to my Kindle, but nothing can replace the tactile experience of turning a page. Most of my favorites are non-fiction, cookbooks, and psychology journals. Even though its not a book, I look forward to the arrival of my Clean Eating magazine (as a self proclaimed foodie.)
Classic rock and 90s alternative rock, Pearl Jam was my favorite, but I confess to enjoy a good Buffet song every now and then. I will listen to lots of different types of music but don't like country or rap.
Orange Blossoms, they transport me back to my childhood everytime I smell one. Growing up we had orange trees that were planted right outside my bedroom window and every winter I would fall asleep with the sweet floral citrusy scent carried in my room on the evening breeze coming off the water.
The outdoors, Sunny weather, Botanical prints: trees, plants etc..., green is my favorite color, Seafood, Textural art , simple designs , Loose leaf tea particularly roobios custom blends , PHOTOGRAPHY & Ansel Adams , collecting sea glass , traveling: although so far I only have 5 countries and 23 states under my belt and hoping to expand the list , linen fabric, eco friendly materials, the beach, sea life, the woods, organic products
The TV isn't on everyday in our house but these are the shows I would watch: The Office, The Soup, Arrested Development, Medium, Clean House, Hoarders, Intervention, American Pickers, MST3K, cooking shows, and I recently got into Pawn Stars
Coffee , Meat (not a vegetarian since I love seafood) , Black , Cold weather that lasts longer than a week , Wearing shoes , Politics , Confirmation Bias , Watching sports , Glitter & fairies etc... , Japanese Animation , Rainbows & unicorns , Golf, video games
Benny and June, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Last of the Dogmen, Phoebe in Wonderland, Run Fatboy Run,

Your profile is so full of things we have in common! I love the outdoors and I like to explore waterfalls as well. OH and your likes..well..they are pretty much the same. I really like Ansel Adams too, though my favorite photographer is Edward Weston. I have a degree in Psych, though unlike you I work as a librarian. I pride myself on being more ecofriendly than most, but I do believe you have me beat!! Anyway, I hope we get paired up again for a swap cause I think it would be fun to swap with you!! =)

I got my license to be an wildlife rehabilitator for the state and love it. I also spend alot of time on the beach at my summerhouse on Long Island. Im on the sound (the beach) but its stilll amazing. I love to collect shells and sea glass as well. I have a huge jar that had shells in it dating to way back in the day from when I was a child. I love that jar so much. Its full now but has so many memories. I topped it off with a mermaids purse.
