I'm 28 and live in Grimes, Iowa and work two jobs- insurance underwriter (I hate it) and part time at a local bookstore (I love it). I'm currently going to graduate school for my Masters in Library and Information Science with an emphasis in Archives. I got my Bachelor's in Anthropology at the University of Iowa and am a huge Hawkeye football fan. I also love the Greenbay Packers- I adore Aaron Rodgers :)
I have two cats named Zaphod and Atlas. I have an almost three-year old nephew I adore- he likes music and cats.
I love to travel. I grew up as an army brat (both my parents were soldiers) traveling all over the world. I've spent time in Korea, Germany, London, Japan, Paris and all over the States. If I could live out of a suitcase for the rest of my life (one big enough to hold my books anyway) I would.
I'm a hippie at heart, a bleeding heart liberal with feminist and environmental leanings. I'm also a confirmed atheist and a huge supporter of the pro-choice movement and GLBT rights.
I knit and crochet and sew a little. Yarn is always appreciated! I'm also a huge collect of paper goods of all kinds- maps, especially- but also, old letters, greeting cards, wrapping paper, etc.
I collect lots of stuff: paper things- especially maps and vintage ephemera, dragons, anything Iowa Hawkeyes, owls, maps, yarn
I am a giant bookworm- I own about 3,000 books- mainly nonfiction science and history and science fiction, paranormal, and fantasy. I do, however, prefer to buy my own.
Favorite Authors- Jacqueline Carey, Neil Gaiman, Jasper Fforde
Recent Favorites- Harry Potter series, The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins, Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowel, Changeless by Gayle Carriger, The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I don't like romance, religious, memoir or republican books.
I like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Eureka, Ghost Hunters, Dexter, House, Warehouse 13, Hell's Kitchen, Bones, Medium, anything on the History Channel, Discovery Channel or SyFy.
My favorite show of all time is Xena: Warrior Princess.
I like Star Wars, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, The Princess Bride, Iron Man, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Simpsons Movie, The Life Aquatic, Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, Zombieland, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and Super Troopers.
*I prefer to buy my own books, thanks
*No religious items, please

In some ways we are opposites, especially in politics, but I also LOVE books. I don't have enough room for as many as you so I have a Kindle. You really should consider getting one, I LOVE mine. Sure it doesn't have real pages, but then you could live out of your suitcase with all of your books, or most anyway. And you can annotate it, leave book marks and download a book anytime! I love to travel but I love being at home too and I always don't want to go right before leaving. Too much to do and worry about, especially packing it all!

Hey from the 'read and comment on your partner's profile' swap!
Happy to meet a colleaque-to-be here. I'm librarian too! I enjoy reading a lot and I think a bookshop could also be an intersting place to work.
I also knit & crochet. Besides having a huge yarn stash, I collect papers for craft projects. It's ridicilous amount. I love old vintage papers and ephemera.
Happy swapping!
hi there!:D
wow you seem to have a cool and interesting life:D sometimes I wish my parents would be soldiers:3
Owls are made of love, they're so awesome! I wish I could have one, but I kinda do, because just outside my house(I live out in the Forrest) there are about 3 owls, so I can hear and see them sometimes!:D<33
Dexter and House are made of win!:D
well, happy swapping /Nicole

I would totally hate being an insurance underwriter too and would totally love the bookstore job! My husband is currently going to school in library science. We are both big book nerds!
I also love to collect owl figurines. You are awesome, I am glad I got to meet you.
I would love to work in a bookstore - used to work in a library while I was at school and loved it :)
Labs are awesome dogs - my dad refused to part with my boy Cabal when I left home :p
Happy to meet someone who's also pro choice. It's not a decision that should be taken lightly in any way, but a woman should definitely be able to choose. That's one discussion I had with my husband before we got married and something I won't budge on.
You've got me thinking.. old maps would make great decor if done right.....
