Greetings from Southern California! I live up in the high desert north of Los Angeles. I am turning 68 years young soon, but I don't ever plan to retire. I am divorced. The love of my life is my beautiful dog Dakota. He's such a wonderful companion. He's a Dutch Partridge Dog. I'm looking forward to getting back into some training and doing agility courses with him.. He also loves to swim and do herding of sheep! We have done a lot of training at Cesar Millan's facility which I'm blessed to live only a few miles away from :).
I love to cook. I also enjoy walking and hiking. I have my Fitbit and I love to try to get my 10,000 steps in daily. Hiking in the hills around my home with Dakota.
Collecting recipes and cookbooks is a great hobby of mine, one I got from my dear late mom. One of my favorite cookbook authors is The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. I picture myself living in the country and cooking up a storm smile surrounded by lots of animals. I also love Gooseberry Patch and anything from Taste of Home and Country Woman Magazine.
I am self-employed and have been since I was 20 years old in the court reporting field. Now, instead of going out to court, I do all of my work at home preparing transcripts for other court reporters. I love my commute and the flexibility of making my own hours. Honestly the word "retire" is not in my vocabulary :)
I am also going to be starting a second business that will one day replace my transcription business. I am definitely ready for a change! Blogging and a direct sales biz look like a lot of fun and creativity. I'm ready for some new adventures.
I am a Christian, and I love to do Bible study and devotions. I seriously don't think I could have gotten through the last few years without my faith. I am currently studying a book about the Proverbs 31 woman by Donna Partow. What a great role model to strive for.
I am looking for penpals, ladies over 40 or 50. I think I would have a lot more in common.
My favorite music is anything Christian. I love listening to lots of contemporary Christian music as well as all the old hymns. My favorite channel on my SiriusXM radio is The Message!
With my job, I don't have a whole lot of free time for reading for pleasure.
Debbie Macomber books and Amish fiction top my list of fiction books.
I enjoy reading books related to my direct sales business and how to grow my business. I have always been an entrepreneur at heart.
A few months ago I found a great group of ladies online where we do daily devotions. I love growing in my faith. It's a wonderful group of women and we meet via Zoom and in a Facebook group. They also have a creative time with some journaling and a craft monthly.
My favorite television show has got to be Last Man Standing. I was so sad to see it come to an end. But I enjoy comedies in movies and television. Another favorite of mine is Frasier. I LOVE TO LAUGH.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite seasons of the year. I enjoy watching Hallmark movies and other Christmas movies.
When I have time, I love to do tole painting and fabric painting.
Bible Journaling.& Scripture Writing
I see the friendship books, decos and ATCs out there, but I don't know anything about them. I would love to learn how to do those things! They look like they're so much fun.
