Hello, My name is Donna and I live in Middle Town USA(surrounded by corn LOL). I've been Happly Married for the Last 91/2 years. i have 2 wonderful boys Zach(21) and Julian(15) they are the lights of my life. I also have 4 step children ranging from 26 to 19, and 6 grandchildren. I have been crafting since I was a child. My Aunt Darlene who was Great at being creative started me off, and then I joined Girl Scouts and had some wonderful Leaders and always had doing crafts in one form or another. While in school in I took home Home Ec where I learned sewing and counted cross stitch. So I have done some(little) sewing, and lots of counted cross stitch. I also took Pottery and Sculpture and a Basic Drawing class. All of these have influenced me and helped to grow and kept me interested. My other crafting has been Scrapbooking, Card Making, and most recently Collages in many different forms. I Love doing these very much, sometimes too much as I can get very engrossed and let other things slide(Oh well).
I don't read as much these days as I am so into my crafts. My favorites are anything by JAmes Patterson, and J.D. Robb
I have the TV on while I craft, but don't really watch it. I would have to say my favorite shows are Heroes, and True Blood.
Movies on the other hand are watched about every night with my Husband. My favorite is Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Other than that I would say I like: action, suspence, martial arts, Sci-Fi and of couse horror.
At the present time I'm totally addicted to making ATC's. I make collages and greeting cards too.
Pink is at the top, but I really enjoy most colors. It would easier to say my dislikes, there aren't as many. I don't really like red and green together, or red, white and blue together. Wierd I know.
I love anything vintage. It was the vintage style that got me going on collages and ATC's. I have not been trading long only in the last year. In that year the way I make my ATC's has already grown and changed. So I can say I remain teachable.
I am only a begginer here @ swap-bot, but I have made personal trades, and in one group swap on Flickr. I do like theme swaps because it allows me to try new things and broaden my art.
What I found is that I'm a little picky and I'm glad that most swaps state what I've been upset at in the trades I've made. Don't just slap on some stickers over a background and call that Art. I know I put Love, Care and Thought into what I make and that's what I'd like to recieve. I hope that dosen't come across as bossy or controlling.LOL LOL
I like giving as well as recieving. That is something I've all ready learned. One of the best parts of swapping for me is going to the mail box and finding that envolope. I just love the suprise of it all.
What I like I usually give is what I like to recieve: emblishments
paper
anything vintage
backgrounds(printed or handmade)
images
stickers
ephemera
extra ATC
lace
ribbon
pretty much anything that you can use to make collage art or ATC's
a friendly note
the truth
postive feedback
a friendly ear
encouragement
support
and kindness.
