I'm a pagan librarian/photographer who loves sewing, kitty cats, butterflies, pirates, vintage anything, sustainable living, being right and reading. I am married to the love of my life and have a spoiled rotten four year old step daughter.
I love classic rock, folk and especially love love love Led Zep and Janis Joplin. I also love a lot of really cheese ball music. I listen to a wide range of things from bluegrass to heavy metal. I love folk music - Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, The Kingston Trio etc. I also really like celtic music. I am not fond of rap, modern country, Van Halen or John Mayer.
BOOKS
I will, literaly, read anything ( I have been known to read can labels in the abscence of other alternatives.) Books I love include anything by Dean Koontz, Diana Gabaldon, Cynthia Voigt, Elizabeth Peters, Jane Austen andJ.K. Rowling. Current faves include Animal Vegetable Miracle and The Omnivore's Dilema. I love cookbooks, crafting books, gardening books and decorating books - especially those with gorgeous photography. More favorites are Mona in the Promised Land by Gish Jen, She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult. I believe that EVERYONE should read everything by Kahlil Gibran, particularly The Prophet. An interesting book that I like is The Cube, very fun.
TELEVISION
I am a Friends fiend and Twin Peaks is almost a religious experience for me. I also enjoy contest type reality shows - particularly Project Runway and Top Chef. I haven't watched television with any regularity for about four years now. My hubby and I are catching up on Lost online and I am also enjoying The United States of Tara (Toni Collette is FAB!)
MOVIES
I run the gamut from Rabid Grannies to The Importance of Being Earnest. I particulary enjoyed Cold Comfort Farm, Love Actually, Pride and Prejudice (hmmm...I sense a theme many of my favorites come from literature - well certainly not Rabid Grannies but many others.) I like period costume dramas and movie musicals. More movies that I love: Labrynth, The Big Lebowski, Sense and Sensebility, Practical Magic, The Mummy, Dracula, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (LOVE!), The Princess Bride, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Viva Las Vegas, Calamity Jane, Come September, Grease, Pirates of the Caribbean - I could go on and on
My main crafting activity is sewing but I like many different crafts. I want to learn more complicated knitting and crochet. I would love to learn felting. I have dabbled in quilling, scrapbooking, quilting, poly clay, book making, wheat weaving and many others
My color preferences change periodically but I have always been fond of black, I really like deserty oranges (my bedroom is this color), I love robin's egg blue (my living room is this color), red is great (my farmhouse kitschy kitchen is this color - actually a pretty vingagy kitschy combo of red/aqua/lime/pink), i adore lime green (my dining room is this color.)
I can't say that there is a color I truly dislike but I am not overfond of babyish pastels (but like some mixed with browns or blacks), or flourescents.
I love citrus flavors and scents. I like things that smell like food, for that matter I like food.
I DO NOT like cinnamon - I had a traumatic childhood cinnamon incident and can't stand the smell or taste. I am also not fond of licorice.
Strong floral scents give me a headache.
Other foody things that I love: milky way midnight, astro pops (I LOVE these but can't find any - if you send me an astro pop you WILL get a heart!!!) Laffy Taffy (cherry, the long flat kind NOT the small squares or long skinny ones,) treats from your area, tootsie roll pops
