Hey there and welcome to my profile!
I'm Svetlana (A.K.A Barsook on this site) and I'm a whole brained person- meaning that I'm crafty and analytical at the same time.
My username means "badger" in Russian and my avatar is from the cover of the Russian version of Lord Brocktree, one of the Redwall books by Brian Jacques. My real name means "one who brings the light" in Russian. Light= svet.
I was born in Moscow, Russia in 1991, but I moved to Ohio, USA in 1993. Don’t ask me if I remember anything about my homeland and I haven’t gone back to it. I been living in Ohio for the rest of my years, but I lived in Cincinnati from 1993 to 1998, then in West Chester. Right now, I'm in West Chester with my mom, dad, my brother (who is eight (8) years younger than me), and my four cats: Barsik, Blue, Megan, and Julian. We are a smoke-free household! But we have cat-household, so, sorry for the cat scented items for those are allergic to cats.
I’m a student at University of Cincinnati (go Bearcats!) and my major is clinical lab sciences but I don't plan to go on to be a lab-tech. Instead, I'm planning to go to grad school for molecular microbiology. I want to do research dealing with bioflims and how those cells "talk" to each other. (Gross, I know, but hey, I like it!)
I practice mediation. Stress relief is one of the reasons why, but I have another main reason: to find my true self. I had (still do) issues in how I develop (brain wise) and I think mediation can help me.
ATC's: I enjoy creating these mini artworks. Their small size allows to fill up a whole piece of paper- even though I was taught to draw larger in art classes in school. Most of mine are hand drawn/painted but sometimes I like to do collages and hand drawn/painted cutouts on a simple background.
I usually use watercolors or colored pencils for my hand drawn/painted ones.
Letter-writing: I enjoy rambling on for pages on anything that is on my mind to my penpals. My letters are written on notecards or just plain lined paper. It's the words that count.
Penpalling: I enjoy connecting with different cultures and other things with my penpals. I'm always looking for international ones. So, if you want to be one, please PM me. Thanks.
Writing: I enjoy writing stories because of my unlimited imagination. I have blog that I keep and that link is the "My Website" link on top of my profile.
Journaling: I'm not the artistry type on this but I enjoy keeping one for my thoughts and feelings. I also use it for brainstorming.
I usually listen to tencho, smooth jazz, and oldies. Sometimes other things but I can't stand classical, country, and rap.
I read fantasy. Mainly sword and sorcery, high, and that stuff that deals with fantasy.
Some of my favorite books are: Harry Potter, Nighwatch (the first book of the Watchs series), and more. Most of what I like and don't like is on my Goodreads page. Username: Barsook
I don't watch TV or movies, I'm not into that stuff. If it's a good movie, then I might go and see it. I once watched a lot of public TV, mainly PBS.

Thank you so much for your care and concern :)
Well ЗдравÑтвуйте Svetlana. :)
Which one would you like? "Light" or "Serenity"?
I have two completed -- one for "Light" and one for "Serenity". Am working on a "Love/Unity" one. Not sure of the title until after the design comes together.
Hey hey Cincy! I actually work up in West Chester, so we're practically neighbors!
You are a good collage artist, all the layers and small details are pulled together in two different colour palettes. ♥ Keep on with collage and build a "vocabulary" of favorite images over the years. My friend Pam Batista (below) does collage almost exclusively. I wish I could show you some of the pieces in the Art Institute museum. One man worked on a collage I saw off and on for 20 years. I will put a link to the online images, but seeing the details in person is amazing.
