I live in the south (USA) but grew up in Arizona...which is a great place for a tomboy to grow up. :)
I am a SAHM to a super fabulous teenager named Andrew. He plays clarinet in his high school band...at his school, the band kids are the "cool" kids...the school has about 1200-1300 students and the band is close to 300 strong...they totally rocks...especially a super cute clarinet player 😉 I take the roll of Band Mom and #1 fan very seriously.
I have been married to my dh for over 20 years.
I have a couple of health issues that keep me indoors a lot and have filled a lot of time with watching crafters on YouTube and Instagram and getting ideas for crafty things etc.
I always love going through anything I get in a swap...if it turns out to be something I don't use, I may pass it on in another swap to someone who will. I love sorting through stuff.
I have been "crafting" since I was a little girl. I have just started a real sketchbook "journal"...for my art...It's a lot of fun but I have a hard time sharing it with others. Although I have considered adding one or two pics to my flickr pages. *I have now added a few of my drawings on flickr...you can also see my craft room and a few scrapbook pages....
I LOVE calligraphy and hand-lettering.
I have also started using watercolors with a small brush or dip pens for my lettering. I am trying to do painting with watercolors, but have a long way to go.
I have added some lettering pages to my Flickr acct as well as my planner.
I LOVE my planner and have had it since before I knew about the Filofax/planner "explosion".. I used to keep all of my medical and "planner" things on my iPad mini...then one day it went black and couldn't be rescued so I went back to the old school way for keep track of stuff and made my own A5 size 3-ring binder planner that is way more than a planner. I intend to share it one day on Flickr or Instagram.
Things punched out of your punches...
-Butterflies -any size but mini I have that punch
-Flowers -any but mini size have those too
-HEARTS out of solid cardstock
-Paper Bows (components)
-Scallop Circles, Squares, Ovals (esp on solid card stock....I only have a 1.5" scallop circle punch)
-Clouds out of white card stock I don't have the storage space to keep buying punches, so I figured why not make a list. ;)
-Stamped images on white card stock ...(with enough space to add embellishments or ribbon etc, to use in my pocket letters, atcs, cards and other paper crafts.
-pieces of LACE...even just 4 or 5 inches
-Crochet Trim....again even if it's just a smaller left over
-tiny flower sequins...especially the tiny "cupped" ones
-cut outs...you know the ones that come in a lot of the 12x12" paper pads that have quotes/words on them
-Die Cuts from the die cut packages that usually go with paper pad collections
I can't pick just one favorite craft....I do a bit of everything. If I had to pick one, it would be papercrafting. I also do calligraphy and hand lettering. Jewelry making. Polymer clay. Too many things to list.
I am a doodler "artist", a hand-letter writing, sewing aprons and planner covers, paper crafting, crazy crafter.
I love all things cute (with the kawaii type of look to them-I guess the japanese cute influence is what I like). I also like the korean cuteness things...
I love pink... some other favorite colors are orange, turquiose, coral...
***CHRISTMAS*****is my favorite...the smells, decorations, crafts, ornaments...I just love Christmas
I love surprises.
I Love all things girly even though I was the biggest tomboy growing up.
I wear APRONS daily
I love polka dots
I am very "hot natured" so I don't need things to keep me warm
My favorite season is the fall ...the smells, the colors, the crisp air, college football.
I ♥ cherry stuff...fabric, ribbon, keychains, pictures, paper, aprons, stamps, etc..
♥I love old retro 40's and 50's types of pics of PIN-ups, housewives, families, /kitschy
♥I love small things...i just think they are cute...maybe it's because as a child I always wished I could find a real live fairy or little pocket sized person :)...
♥woodland creatures...esp of the kawaii influence. :)........deers, hedgehogs, foxes, etc
I am sensitive to smoke smells and some perfumes. I don't like the smell of gardenia or magnolia ..they make my head swim. :( strong smells of any type give me a headache
Fabrics I like are polka dots and gingham, small print calicos and Japanese prints...kawaii rocks
I don't wear pins, but I put super cute ones in my planner
I love handmade things. I'm jealous of the sewing people of the world. I LOVE quilts.
The color orange is my friend. I don't like to get glitter everywhere so I can only handle it in very small quantities. :)
♥I like jewelry with a little "hippie" vibe to it I wonder if anyone actually reads all of this stuff I am writing. it's a lot of info....hmmm
I like words and inspirational sayings around me. Have I mentioned I love pink. ;)
since i can't get it to come up in it's own box....
pretty much anything from my "likes" list
I love pens....cute ones, gel pens, different types...colored ink i don't care i just love them
San-X Sabo Kappa Cactus items *Pandapple stuff
Anything in the kawaii type of cuteness esp like the cute little apples and such with their little faces...so cute (NO Hello Kitty as I can find her around here) *BUT I'm not a "diehard" japanese co. only fan of cute things. Korean kawaii is great too!
Woodland critters.. deers, birds, foxes, hedgehogs...especially of the cute/kawaii influence...etc
Shaped paperclips
I absolutely LOVE retro/cute ROBOTS, aliens or monsters
I am a huge STITCH (From disneys Lilo & Stitch) and SULLY fan(from Monsters, inc) I esp love all the Japanese stitch stuff
*DISNEY.....LOVE IT. I have always been a huge Disney fan. Use Disney quotes almost daily during conversations...and there are some movies that I could probably turn the sound down on and do word for word....Disney fanatic! Seriously.
Please don't send junky stuff...or used stuff...or dirty stuff...or left-over-half-used-and-it-fills-up-my-swap-obligation stuff...I would much rather have someone send me a well thought out swap of one or two things than a bunch of "extras" to try and make up for a sloppy/thoughtless swap.
Scary/gory stuff
Tea bags (although I drink tea I only drink iced tea and don't care for flavored tea.)
Coffee -like the smell hate the flavor
Hot chocolate-only drink once a year on christmas eve...so it is wasteful. (seems like a theme going on here...I don't like hot drinks)
witch/wiccan stuff
overly religious types of things
I don't like strong perfumy smells (my son has bad allergies and I get super bad headaches when things are overly "smelly"...even if I like the smell in small doses..if they are overwhelming I will get a dizzy headache)... esp. gardenia and magnolia.
I really do not mean to sound ungrateful for the things I receive in swaps but I have gotten a lot of thoughtless swaps and wonder if they were reading someone elses profile and got confused before shipping?
I put a TON of effort into my packages and thankfully I have received some awesome partners as well and to those of you that also put your thought and heart into what you send THANKS A MILLION TIMES!!!!
I suck at lying...even when I try I am terrified of grasshopper and crickets.
I am an adoptive mom...and that ROCKS! (imo) I love the Univ. of Tenn. football......GO VOLS I love being a mom
The 1 rating that I have was from so long ago that I didn't remember having it. As I thought back I do remember that my original swap didn't make it to its destination and that I said I would send another...I don't remember avoiding the attempts made to contact me though. I have done so many swaps on here in the past, and more recently on pocket letter pals. I have never flaked on anyone intentionally. After seeing and remembering that 1 rating, I thought I should at least acknowledge it. I can't imagine that if I told someone I would resend something, that I would then not follow through, but apparently it seems like that must have happened. I could try to fix it again, but it was so many years ago and my swap partner hasn't been on here for some time either...so I'm sorry that it's on here. If you are uncomfortable about swapping with me I understand due to that "1".*******

Thank you so much for the great package of stamped images you sent me for the "Stamped Images Tag." When I looked through your "goodie" package of stamped images I knew that I would be using them in future creative endeavors. Thank you again for being prompt in getting these to me. Will look forward to playing tag with you again. Barb, sleepingrover2010
