Hi, my name is Amy and I just moved to Maine for my job at a Hospital. I love sending presents and pretty things that I make in the mail. I have been doing this since I was a kid and found out about swap-bot on a blog about Happy Mail. I am sure my rating will be great once I get started. I am watching a few swaps right now to learn how to do this... I look forward to Swapping!
I have 3 pups, and 2 cats. We live in a big Maine house (if you've ever been here, you know that the houses here are big... was very shocking to me when I first got here, but I like it! :) lol!) The three pups are my adorable Madeline (French Bulldog, cream) sweet and loving Zoey (French Bulldog, white and cream pied) and tender-hearted Sebastian (Yorkie-Chiauaua mix, brown and black). My two kitties, are a lovely gray, sassy short haired cat named Slinky and a gorgeous semi-long haired cream colored cat named Twinkie. They are my Furr Family and I love them all like children!
I love music of all kinds! The reason I am not going to put a "Favorite" is because I enjoy hearing new music from other people. So send me what YOU like, and I will gladly see what I think of it! I LOVE experiencing everything and hope to find new music that I love!
I love books! Barnes and Noble is my favorite place on Earth! :) I enjoy books about real things, learning new things, and 'self help' type of books. I also MAKE books as I am a book artist! So don't be surprised if when you get a letter from me, it's shaped like a little book. It won't be a long letter, but you will see the love that I put into all my letters by making them into little books! :)
MOVIES ARE MY PASSION! I love movies! I live in a very remote place in Maine (I am originally from the Chicago area) and there is a small theatre here! So I don't get to see first run movies anymore, but I do get to go to the movies, so I am quite happy with that! I love movies of all kinds, especially psychological thrillers! Example: The 6th Sense, Thomas Crown Affair (my FAVORITE!), Seven, Fallen, Saw and Saw 2 (after that it was just gruesome, which I DON'T like). I love biography type movies. Madonna produced one call W & E and I thought it was beautifully done. I love historic movies, funny movies, serious movies... if it's a good movie, I will love it! Also, I have found the new genre to be pretty interesting. The Hangover Series was pretty good, and Steve Carrell (did I spell his name right???) makes me double over in laughter. I love old movies as well. This last summer I was able to see Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor on the big screen! I have also seen 'Gone with the Wind' and 'Casablanca' and 'Singing in the Rain' on he big screen! AWESOME! I have a huge TV in my den JUST for that purpose! MOVIES! I love them, so let me know what movies you enjoy! I also can watch foriegn movies as well! If it doesn't have subtitles, my boyfriend can translate, as he speaks 5 languages, and between the two of us, we can figure it out! :)
I don't watch much television, but when I do, it's THE BIG BANG THEORY! I LOVE that show! I can't believe it was in it's 4th season before I actually found out about it! But it's awesome, as I am a big nerd, never really fit it to any group and am still a big kid. After that, I am a News junkie, but HATE that about myself, because I know that it's mostly lies... My parents both watched the news when I was growing up, but it was different then. Of course... everything was different then... :)
Hmmm.... where do I start... Favorite you say??? It would have to be papercrafts and making books. I LOVE to make books and I just moved to Maine where the Hospital rented me a house, and it has a room in it that I am making into my craft room!!! SOOOOO EXCITED! I will probably post lots of pictures and talking about it endlessly, but I have always used an extra closet or pantry for my craft room, so to have an actual room that has built in, wall to wall storage is amazing to me!
I love to make books and will write letters in them... they usually aren't large books, but I decorate them and put lots of love into them. Most everyone loves them! I will take a regular card and make a book out of it, with ribbon and embellishments, etc. It's much fun to me! I have had pen pals since the summer of 1977 when I met my first pen pal at Girl Scout Camp! We wrote LOTS of letters! I was a chronic 'note passer' in school too! :) I met someone from Germany when I was 10 years, and that changed the course of my life. I have been interested in everything European and International since then! I have sent lots of letters, postcards and gifts International, and recieved some as well! It's sort of a hobbie and craft in itself, I guess. So many of of my friends and family get envious, but they don't write letters or send things in the mail... they just want stuff, they don't want to send stuff. For me, it's BOTH! I LOVE to send things! So, if you are my partner, GET READY! :)
When I was 4 years old, my Grandma Deany lived in Florida for the winter and she sent me a package for my birthday (which is in February) That was AMAZING that you could not only get Christmas presents from Santa Claus, but that your Grandma could be very far away and send you a present! I still remember the brown paper package to this day! When I left after High School and moved away to be a Nanny, my Grandma Stevenson and 2 Aunts were my best pen pals! Anything we could stuff in an envelope we sent! I still have the cards and letters from them to this day! So, yes, spoiling someone thru the mail has been a two way street in my life and I love it and miss it and hope Swap Bot is a great way to meet new people, swap things, and have a great time!

Hi Amy, Thanks so much for the return Halloween card! So sweet of you to also send one back to me. Hope you find some snakes for your costume or come up with another idea! I LOVE homemade creativity with costumes. Sherri in Georgia
Hi Amy, Thank you so much for the beautiful card and note you sent to me! I think you have an excellent attitude about living with the snow instead of trying to fight it and snowmobiling IS so much fun! We moved here 2 years ago and I am still trying to get everything organized! My husband helped a bunch when he built me a studio in a conex box, so I can put all my art stuff out there, turn on my music and just make stuff! LOL I will write a longer letter and send it off to you. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
