I'm a working mom, I have two kids (18 yo son & 10 yo daughter. I'm a girl scout leader for a great group of Junior & Brownie girls. I have a hard time saying "no" when it comes to volunteering for my kids activities. Which included the school PTA (yeah.. i'm a PTA Mom), and leading a very busy troop of Girl Scouts.. I woudn't trade the girls for anything.. just love all of them. I have had to scale back a bit recently so I bid farewell to PTA (i volunteer as needed now) Besides the kids, I have a husband, two cats (Diva the Manx & Charlie the psycho), 1 large dogs (Mariah, Rhodesian), and one crazy chihuahua that thinks she's a cat (Izzy).
I recently got brave and got a tattoo. It didn't hurt at all. My tattoo is of a dragonfly. I read somewhere that dragonflies represent inner strength. Somehow, that seemed to suit me. I think some of my friends were surprised that first, i actually got one, and second it wasn't some little whimsical tattoo.
My husband told me to get a hobby.. famous last words.. 4 yrs later, I have enough scrapbooking supplies to open my own store. I think I'm addicted to paper. I just love pretty paper.. bright colors, unique designs. I just can't have enough paper. One of these days I'll actually finish a book. I've started one for each of the kids. I do make an attempt to creat pages- sometimes I just get too busy. I've challenged myself to complete at least 1 scrapbook page per week.I also have started to make my own cards. Let's call it a work in progress. My daughter & I like to make girl Scout SWAPS, and trade with other troops. It's amazing what one can do with a pipe cleaner, bottle cap & craft glue. I received a new Cricut machine for xmas.. i'm really excited about that :) so if you like paper die cuts, i may send you some.
I don't seem to have as much time to read these days. I do like a quick read, that I can just loose myself in for an hour. I loved the YaYa books. I do like Ann Rule, I thought i'd try the new Twilight series.. seems to have drawn a ton of attention lately. I am a Nicholas Sparks fan.. :)
I'm a reality show junkie. I admit it. Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing race- Just can't get enough of it. I do enjoy Grey's Anatomy.
I grew up in Oregon. I moved to Washington state about 16 yrs ago. I don't think I'd ever move from the Northwest. We have such great scenery, mild winters.. I have to admit, warmer summers would be great though.

Mine is showing his independance, which includes talking down to me. This is subject to changed based on his mood. **The Color Purple.. not the movie/book.. the color. Everyone thinks since my birthstone is amethyst, i should love that color.. **The color pink.. small doses is fine.. but too much pink is truly overkill **Selling Girl Scout cookies.. lol.. but i'm a girl scout leader, and if it's the only way to raise money for my troop.. i'll help my daughter out.
Jacob my 18 y/o believes he is a rock star in the making. He's truly musically inclined. He plays sax, drums and has recently taught himself how to play guitar. He's recently discoverd Metal (i'm totaly uncool of course). Little does he know that the groups he's rambling on about are the same groups that my friends & i used to rock out too... AC/DC, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Van Halen... He won't admit that i was way cooler before I had kids..lol.
Kaiah, my baby girl is 10 y/o now. Who ever said that little girls were all sweet, cuddly, girlie, princess wanna be's? My daughter is all tomboy (with the exception to her love of the color pink (I cringe, because i hate pink). She's into Littlest pet shop,Hello Kitty, Zhu Zhu Hamsters, Pokemon, and now Bakugon. She loves anything with a Chihuahua on it. She is also into the solar system, and will tell anyone that listens all the planet facts that she know. Her favorite planet is Saturn. She's an advanced reader, loves to read non-fiction. She's gotten fond of reading Guiness World record books, and kid encyclopedias. She loves retro cartoons such as Peanuts & Tom & Jerry, She LOVES girl scouts. I pushed her into it. I thought she needed more socialization with girls (all her friends have been boys since preschool). I think she is finding her way in the girl world though. I see little glimpses of "girlieness" every now & then. She always says she doesn't like Hannah Montana, but i caught her watching.. i can guarantee, she wouldn't wear a Hannah Montana T-shirt. But my kids are who they are and I wouldn't change them. So, if you are ever inclined to send something for them, feel free. Guitar pics for Jake,or mixed CD of good music..lol. For Kaiah, stickers, craft items, like i mentioned we make SWAPS for girl scouts and she loves being creative.
Hannah was our Rottie/Lab rescue, we recently lost her to cancer. We got her and her sister Mariah (Lab/Rhodesian) about 7 yrs ago. They came from an abusive home originally, the family that took her originally couldn't handle their escaping (Mariah can scale a 6'ft fence). Their neighbors thought the dogs aggressive. It's more looks that actions with the two. they are (and were) truly big babies. They love treats & tennis balls. Diva was our first cat. She is the sweetest cat ever (even for a Manx). my daugther use to dress her up and push her around in a stroller when she was little. Diva likes treats and fleece blankies. Charlie is our second cat. We got him from a rescue about 3 yrs ago. He was so cuddly when we adopted him..then we found out he was sick with kitty pneumonia.. he's better now, but he's true personality has come out. He's extremely skittish. It took a year for him to warm up to us. We can't pick him up, he'll decide when he will sit on your lap. He's a bit nutty. He tries to climb the walls (literally- he just did it as i'm typing this). Charlie likes treats and cat toys. Izzy- is our newest addition. She was my mom's dog, but mom had a stroke and couldn't take care of her. I will refer to her as psycho chihuahua at times. I do love her, but there are times.. like tonite, i came home and she chewed up christmas ornaments, last week it was a library book. So, we may have to start kenneling her when we aren't home. My husband didn't care much for her when I brought her home from Oregon. But now, Izzy is "daddy's baby". sleeps with him, goes everywhere with him... Izzy likes everything.. literally. Treats, toys, you name it.. ohh.. doggie sweaters. She's longer than a normal chi. so most of the sweaters she has are a bit short.
I'm only adding this, because i have seen the catagory on other profiles..
(really, i'm not picky)
