Description:

You will fill in 10 pages of a journal and send it to your partner.

  • The first page should include an introduction and a picture. It should include your name and swap-bot id, and address.
  • At least two pages should include things about where you live and who you are. What is the weather like, ect. You could include things like brochures, postcards, pictures or anything else about where you live.
  • The rest of the pages should be journal entries of whatever you would like, like what you did, where you went, anything going on in your life, whatever you would like try not to just write on each page but include other "embellishments" like recipes that are commonly served for your family, pictures of things you did, do an art page, anything else you would like to add. Try to be creative and fill the pages fully. Feel free to make envelopes/folders on the pages to include things.

For this swap since it's the first in the series you will need to decorate a journal. A composition book will do fine but you could make one from scratch if you wish just make sure it has around 100 pages in it since I would like to have about 10 different people journal in one book. Make sure to decorate it nicely not just slap stickers or a cover on it. You will be the one receiving your own journal back so you can spend as much or little time as you want but many people will be seeing your work.

Since this is a non-profile based swap you can start on it right away.

This swap is a little time intensive but is a very inexpensive swap. I can get composition books for 40 cents near me right now and you can decorate it with what you have in your supplies. If you use media mail to send your journal it is much cheaper.

For the Traveling Journal #2 you will fill in 10 pages in the journal you have received and you then send it to your next partner for the next swap. When you fill a journal with it's last entries send it back to it's owner and they get to keep it. Then they will start a new journal and keep going :)

Is there a set size for the composition journal? Are we doing the 8.5" x 11" size or a smaller size? The composition journals come in different sizes.

The journal I have is the one that is 9.75 by 7.5. I wouldn't recommend one smaller than that but if you want to do a bigger one that would be fine.
