For this swap you will make 1 stunning Day of the Dead PENDANT for 1 partner. This swap is for a unique creation. The pendant must be related to Mexico's Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead festival in some way. Think sugar skulls, La Catrina, dancing skeletons etc. The pendant can be made from whatever medium you like but must be sturdy and durable. You can make it from scratch using polymer clay, soldered microscope slides, jewellery findings, lockets or cabochon frames, large skull ceramic beads, a small doll or ceramic skeleton, or alter existing items such as dominoes, bamboo tiles, bottle caps, small metal shrines with DOTD related imagery. Size wise the pendant should be around 2 or 3 inches long and have a bail attached so that your partner can put it on a chain straight away. The pendant can have dangles such as charms, glass beads, and baubles etc. You can incorporate rhinestones and glitter to give it a bit of sparkle if you wish. This swap is for a pendant only. You do not need to send a chain or thong. Please spend time and effort creating a pendant your partner will love to wear. You do not need to use expensive supplies but make it special. No plastic or wooden kiddie craft beads etc. Please check you partners profile for any dislikes and favourite colours etc. You must have a rating of 4.9 or above and be rated for at least 15 type 3 swaps to join this swap. Sorry no newbies allowed. I will check profiles thoroughly before assigning partners to make it as safe as possible for all participants. No one likes to be flaked on so please respect others and do not flake. Any questions please feel free to ask : ) You can easily google info on Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead, sugar skulls, La Catrina to see lots of images. Also check out Day of the Dead jewellery, Dia de los Muertos jewellery and sugar skull jewellery on flickr and etsy.com for inspiration. |
