Write something about the PC on it : where you got it, the artist, PC publisher, etc.

THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT POSTCARDS:

Include your name and username, where you live (doesn't have to be entire address), and ENTIRE swap name. PCs that are 6 inches long by 4-1/4 inches high by .016 inch thick cost 29 cents to mail, while the bigger ones cost 44 cents. Leave about a half inch at the bottom for (this is not usually too strict but sometimes usps puts a sticker to add their code at the bottom if there is no room) NO AD CARDS PLEASE.

Rating: This swap is SENDER'S CHOICE. Please do not rate your partner based on how much you actually like the PC. Give them a 5 if you received a PC that is naked, written on and is not typical. Give a lower rating if you did not receive anything at all, or if the PC you received is something that you truly feel is deserving of it.

You must have a rating of 4.9 or higher. Absolutely no 1s and no unexplained 3s. Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile. I will be checking profiles and will ban anyone who seems iffy. If I fail to weed out all flakers, I will angel.

Why why why US only? May I use your text and host the same swap for international swappers?

aether 06/21/2011 #

US only because it takes so long to receive and because sending a PC internationally cost as much as a small package.

I will host an international version of this swap.

aether 06/21/2011 #

so, I created an international version of this swap and no body joined so...I will try again some other time.

LindyLuLu 06/22/2011 #

I discovered that the sticker the USPS adds to the bottom peels off! Just and FYI.

I think those unusual postcards are becoming more common. I am finding lots of postcard sets and books in book stores and unusual postcards in greeting card shops that specialize carry more artistic greeting cards. Borders carries Paperchase which I would put into the unusual category.

Atropos 06/23/2011 #

Well, I would have joined the international one, but you seem to have deleted it. I´ll watch for it in the future.

papercaper 06/24/2011 #

I would have joined it too. Have some patience, little bird.

swap4fun 06/24/2011 #

what do you mean by nake?

Gwenelle 06/24/2011 #

@aznative72 - A "naked" postcard is one that has been stamped and written on by the sender, mailed by itself ... as opposed to a blank postcard inside an envelope.

swap4fun 06/24/2011 #

ok thanks for the information

justined0414 06/25/2011 #

FYI-- the postage for a postcard to send international is the same as here in the US. I have sent hundreds of postcards with a .28 cent stamp then ones with the new .29 and I have never not had one make it.

Simonette 06/25/2011 #

i would have joined the international one too.. :/

uconn 06/26/2011 #

@justined0414 that's just uncool. though it may be delivered, it's not the correct postage

bruxbaby 06/26/2011 #

@justined0414 - those people may be paying extra postage at the post office to pick up the PC you sent with insufficient postage. PC rates are as follows: USA $0.29, Canada $0.75, Overseas $0.98.

justined0414 06/26/2011 #

I have never heard anything from any of my swap partners from swap-bot or from postcrossing about having to pay extra postage. I think that something that I would be rated down for or someone would tell me when they got my swap. And why is it uncool? I don't understand what I've done wrong. No one has ever said anything out of the hundreds of postcards I've sent, someone would have said something by now.

justined0414 06/26/2011 #

And FYI for anyone that's going to try and start drama with me and my statement-- my parents who have been working with the USPS for over 25 years gave me this information, which was given to them by their postmaster that they work very closely with.
