Description:

Do you have a 500+ pieces jigsaw puzzle (with no missing pieces) that you've already done that you don't plan on doing again? If so, this swap is for you! It's time to trade jigsaw puzzles instead of going to the store to buy new ones, only to have them pile up and clutter your home!

You will send to ONE partner one complete jigsaw puzzle with at least 500 pieces (500, 750, 1000, 2000 all ok) and no missing pieces, to the best of your knowledge. This puzzle does not have to be in its original box but the original picture of what the puzzle looks like must be included. For example, you could put the pieces in a zip-loc bag and cut out the puzzle box picture and mail them in an envelope to save on shipping OR you can package up the original box with pieces inside and ship it that way too.

Please check your partner's profile for their taste preferences relating to puzzles in case you have several to choose from and one will match up with them really well; however, puzzle choice is sender's choice and profile does not have to match the puzzle. The idea is to trade out used puzzles rather than going out to buy your partner a new one that matches their profile exactly.

RATING REQUIREMENTS: Rate your partner a 5 if you receive a puzzle that meets the requirements of the swap: one puzzle, at least 500 pieces, either in or out of original box but with original picture. Feel free to give a 5 and a heart if you get something extra special from your partner.

Rate your partner a 3 if you receive the required puzzle item but it was sent late, or if you receive something that is less than the required item (for example: if you receive a 250 piece puzzle).

Rate your partner a 1 if you receive absolutey nothing and if there is no communication between you and your partner to explain the very late or missing send.

This is my first time hosting a swap so please bear with me - let me know if you see something missing or any mistakes in a message and I will attempt to correct! :)

Thanks for making this swap. I had actually been thinking of this exact same idea for a swap!

albanykate 05/ 2/2011 #

@Luverbird - me too! :) I keep getting more and more jigsaw puzzles and I don't like to do them more than once... rather than donate I thought maybe a trade would be great :)

thefaircw 05/14/2011 #

This is just what I've been looking for...any chance you'd run it again? I hope so!

I have over twenty puzzles to swap but don't know how to participate. I had enough trouble registering with the secret word.

cmhussey 08/ 5/2012 #

I am also confused as to how to proceed now that I've joined.

gaelkj 09/ 6/2012 #

I am interested in participating, but am also confused about how to proceed now that I've joined..

I agree! I want to participate, but there's no clear instructions on how to contact others to swap puzzles.

Can we try this again? e-mail me if interested: meg@talkingchanges.com

I just finished a cool (though not easy) 1000-piece puzzle of different ice cream dishes and would love to swap with someone.

I really need to trade out my puzzles, I have at least 10... most are 500 and 1000 pieces and they're mostly nature related (pretty landscapes, mountains, animals). I don't know how to contact people to swap out puzzles, so please email me if you're interested! I would love to swap for 500+ pieces (1000 or more preferred, a few missing pieces is ok too!), also nature related, but I'm open to other themes. I live in St. Louis, MO: zabucha@sbcglobal.net I have pictures of completed puzzles available as well!

I wanted to tell you about a website that I built specifically for the purpose of ridding ourselves of the closet full of jigsaw puzzles and getting them in the hands of others who want them. I launched the website just this month so it may take a few months for it to take off. I really could use your help to accomplish this since you already have an interest.

http://www.ablondemomentmarketing.com/puzzler/index.html is the location of the website for now.

I call it a Jigsaw Puzzle Surprise because it will be a lot of fun when you open the mailbox and find a package of puzzles to work. When you have puzzles to send, simply go to the list of those requesting them, print off a shipping label and send them off. If you want to receive puzzles, sign up to be on the list along with the types you would like to receive. From there, it is all about the people that want to participate. There is a small $2.50 charge to join which covers administrative and maintenance costs for the site. You will pay more than that for a quality puzzle at your local store. There is also a 90 free trial if you would like to test it first.

I’d love for you to take a look at the site, give me some feedback on how it could work better. But send off those puzzles and make someone’s day! This will be great for senior and day care centers or the local fire dept. or a remote military installation.

Thanks for listening! Hope to see you on the members list!

Very interested. How do we swap?

anncarter 10/29/2014 #

How does this work? I'm definitely in!

schworak 04/18/2019 #

I know this is an old post, but if you want to trade puzzles there is a free site I use. https://PuzzleSwaps.com

It is pretty new with only a few people so far but it is growing and I have had good luck with them.

Of all the types of puzzles, my favorite is the game of mahjong. And I used to enjoy playing classic tile layouts. And just recently I was lucky enough to find a site with intricate mahjong layouts and I play the fish layout. You can find out the detail and play online the amazingly cool fish mahjong layout. This layout uses as many as 196 tiles and is not at all a classic option.
