Description:

It seems that there are all manner of scrummy things that we spread on our toast bread and crackers. So many things that we have never heard of or seen before from around the world - what a perfect opportunity to try something new :)It could be sweet or savoury, or even a bit of both!

This will be INTERNATIONAL!

For this swap you will send your partner at least ONE small size(but bigger than individual portion) pot/tub/tube of a spread that is local to you/your country. I wont put a monetary value on this, but please make sure you send a package you would like to receive yourself.

Maybe a recipe that includes the ingredient you have sent, or a note explaining customary ways in which to use it would be nice?

If you have a preference to whether you receive a sweet or savoury spread, or have any allergies, please post in the discussion. (however, if you do have allergies etc, please be aware that it might be more difficult for your partner to send you the right thing - for instance, i do not have access to specialist shops where I live)

Also, if there are any restrictions regarding customs in your country, please make that quite clear too, or the package will be sent at your risk.

Please do NOT send homemade items - they are wonderful, but not appropriate to this swap.

Minimum rating 4.9 and no nosends. No newbies this time Im afraid. Of course, I know all members of this group will follow the rules!

I have given a long lead time, to give everyone a chance to think about what to send.

Any questions or queries, PM me :)

Please remember, "Swap as you would wish to be swapped by" I want everyone to enjoy this!

Could we send one of those mini sample containers that are good for maybe 2-4 uses?

hoppyloo 02/ 9/2011 #

Hi - no, it needs to be a bought size that your partner can share with her/his family - so, not a huge family size, but your average everyday size. Hope that makes sense! eg - marmite here in hte UK comes in tiny individual packs that you get free in hotels etc, but for this swap you need to purchase a jar - they come in I think 3 sizes - the small one is fine because it will last a good while!

Just to check that I translated the word correctly: Spread is something that you put on your slice of bread, right? And it can consist of many different things...right?

hoppyloo 02/ 9/2011 #

Yes, TrinitySF - it could be sweet like jam or chcolate, or savoury like marmite or peanut butter :)

Great! Thanks!

Would a 4oz be okay, or something bigger like an 8oz jar??

SweetClementine 02/17/2011 #

4 oz. is 113 grams. @hoppyloo can tell you for sure, but I think this is the approximate size that she is thinking of.
