Random Act of Kindness Challenge*

I love Random Acts of Kindness. Don't you? There's just something special about putting a little extra sunshine in someone else's day!

This swap has a little "twist," that goes with it. "Twist?" You ask... "What kind of twist?" Well my friends, the twist is this:

The "Random Act of Kindness" package you put together isnt meant to be kept by your partner... instead, they will receive your package, and follow the directions enclosed to put some joy in someone else's day.

Here's how it works: *You sign up. (yes, please do!) *You think of a neat idea you could incorporate into a "Random Act of Kindness" project. (See below for ideas) *Put your package together. Include a short "note" to help your partner deliver the "act of kindness." *Mail off your package.

It will be up to your partner to follow through and put a little unexpected cheer in someone's day. Of course, you wont know exactly if your partner follows through, but considering this IS a "RAK" swap, I think its a safe bet we will all follow through! You may even want to send your partner a message, after completing your challenge to let them know what this experience was like for you! :) However, that isnt swap requirement.

Here are some ideas to help get you started:

1. Search online for sites that give out information on terminally ill children. Perhaps print off a child's information page. Make sure you include the child's address!! Put together a package for the child. You might include sticker sheets, a book, a postcard... send the package off to your partner WITH the child's contact information / directions on how to send the package off.

2. Make a cute little "Random Act of Kindness" note card. Send it to your partner, along with .50 cents. Tell your partner to leave the notecard in the bottom of a vending machine, and put the .50 cents in the machine. Simple enough, right? A stranger will come across the note, get a free soda, and perhaps decide to spread a little "RAK," themselves!

3. Send your partner a cookie mix. Maybe include sprinkles... etc. Challenge your partner to bake the cookies for a neighbor.

4. Send your partner a crossword puzzle... ask them to deliver it to a nursing home. Of course, you are more than welcome to spiffy it up a bit and be creative!

5. Go thrifting. Find a stuffed animal. Make a "tag" for the stuffed animal that says, "take me home!" Challenge your partner to leave the stuffed animal at a park, or any place where it will likely be found by a child.

It can be simple or complex. If you're looking for something more simple, you could always send your partner a blank greeting card with a stamped envelope, and encourage them to write a letter to someone they haven't spoken to in awhile.

Please remember to rate your partner. You are more than welcome to purchase items from a thrift store (Im thrifty!!) but please make sure they are clean and in good condition. If your partner sends their swap ON TIME, please rate accordingly and give them the credit they deserve. :)
