Description:

This was so much fun last time, as if you knit, crochet or craft in pretty much any form, sooner or later you're going to accumulate a stash of yarn. And in this stash, you'll discover, lurk sad little orphan balls of yarn. They're the single ones, too nice to use any old how, but never quite right for what you want. They could be a leftover from that great sweater you knit three years ago, or the spare ball that came with the baby blanket for your now 15-year old.

For this swap, we're going to dig out three of our lonely stash yarns and set them free to a new and (hopefully) loving home. The only requisite is that they be nice quality yarns - no cheap acrylic or tasteless fun fur (unless your partner states they like that kind of thing!!) So that's 3 balls of yarn to 1 partner. By 'ball' I mean a 50g ball/skein/cake of yarn, so if you have a 100g and a 50g, that would do too.

It's pretty much sender's choice for this, but make sure you read your partner's profile carefully and try not to send them stuff that makes them shudder.

For hearts, send an extra ball or throw in some treats, but that's totally up to you. :)

Limited to those with a 4.7 rating or above, no unexplained 3s or 1s please. Newbies must have a fully filled out profile. Use the comments box below if you really loathe something, can't stand the colour yellow or are allergic to wool, but please don't be too fussy.

The only thing I really hate and won't ever use are novelty/fuzzy/fun fur/bumpy type yarns. Anything else can always be put to one use or another :)

I am new to yarn crafts can you please tell me what is considered quality yarn?

Saucyknits 01/24/2011 #

@ patumma: With a few exceptions, if it comes from a big box store (i.e. Joann/Walmart/Michaels/Hobby Lobby), it's unlikely to be "quality" yarn.

However, the coordinator may have a different definition & you should ask her (send her a message)

I would love to hear if this is what the hostess has in mind??

Pls note I am sending from South Africa so the postal service takes longer to get there. But its on its way :)

I'm with the coordinator: I can't imagine using novelty/fuzzy/fun fur/bumpy type yarns
