Is there a size requirement? susiqz

mini! LOL!

Artist rule in my swaps...it is your interpretation of "mini book"

SharonP 11/ 8/2007 #

I love little handmade books and I love making them, and I really like the open-endedness of this swap. There's no telling what you'll get! Fun!

(and thanks for the way-after-Christmas deadline)

PoMoGolightly 11/24/2007 #

Are you open to swappers new to making handmade books?

teresa 12/ 6/2007 #

Would you mind if I started a similar swap for beginners? I'm new to making handmade books and still learning, plus I won't have 20 ratings for a while yet! I would probably make the swap period between Jan-Feb next year.

Zia 12/ 9/2007 #

I've only been in 14 swaps but have 24 hearts and a 5 overall. Would this be acceptable? (I'm not clear on what you mean by "20 ratings" -- sorry if I'm being dense!)

This sounds like a fun project :)

I've been covering little Moleskines and the smallest "composition" books, and have been plotting this as a next step!

CraftyDiana 12/24/2007 #

Can we take a very mini store bought composition book and decorate it? Or do we have to make the actual book itself from scratch? :)

travelgirl 12/27/2007 #

Great question Crafty Diana- can we?

YooperHill 12/28/2007 #

I was thinking more along the lines of hand made.

Teresa, please feel free to do a beginner swap. That is fine with me! Beginner book makers are welcome here as long as they meet the requirements!

SharonP 12/29/2007 #

YooperHill, thanks for reiterating the handmade aspect. Even though I understand why Crafty Diana would like to alter/decorate an existing book, and I'm sure that would make a very nice swap of its own, I did sign up for this one specifically because I like handmade books.

But I have no disagreement with including beginning book makers -- I would be delighted to get someone's first handmade book.

I just did a review of everyone who is signed up. I have sent PM's and emails to three people who have not logged in for a while.

I will be assiging partners soon. Have fun everyone!

Heyas....sorry giys....I posted sent, but of course the Post won't pick them up 'till the 22 (today's sunday and monday's a holiday).

So they're sent....in the post box on time (out last night) but the post mark won't reflect the date sent out.

Thanks for letting a beginner (me!) join this--I discovered that I LOVE making notebooks! Mine will be in the mail on Tuesday as that's the first mail.

I'm going to search for sources for better quality paper for the inside for my next batch--any tips?

Tia 02/ 2/2008 #

I never got one from one of my partners. :(

Tia 02/ 2/2008 #

Who else had Angsty/Jen or something like that as a partner? Did you get one?
