For this swap you will alter a valentine candy box (or if they don't have around you a box of chocolates would be fine). After altering the box the candy wrappers inside the box must be filled with crafty goodness. Can be things such as ribbon, buttons, pins, sprinkles, jewels etc anything you can think of that your partner will like. The picture gives a good idea of the swap I have in mind. Also please wrap your box and include a handmade card. This is the kind of valentine I'm sure we all wish for sometimes, something actually for us and not so mass marketed. Happy crafting! Any questions let me know, thanks. what size box should i look for? i got a heart box of chocolates from walmart that was five dollars it is 8.5 across the heart and then from point to point it was about 9.5 if that helps. how much should i spend on the contents? really this is up to you because i know i like to go all out but in buying stuff i also make and also use stash items which i have plenty to share so it's really up to you any suggestions on the best way of keeping the contents in the candy cups? i fear that everything will get really messy in the mail. it's funny because i was thinking about this on my way home today about what i'm putting in the cups and how to keep it in there. i came up with several suggestions either wrap small moveable elements in some kind of baggie or cellophane or you could even stuff it with tissue paper on top of each cup so the items dont move and it's an even better surprise when you open it. Please note the candy box must also be decorated to show a valentine theme, thanks |
