Description:

The Fletcher Library is hosting a program on January 21 entitled "Postcard Swaparoo." Children will come to the library to design and decorate postcards that will be sent by the library to those who sign up for this swap. Also, those who sign up should send one (1) postcard to the Fletcher Library, which will be distributed to the kids at the program. The postcards that are sent to the library should ideally represent where you live and say something cute and fun that the kids will enjoy. The kids should enjoy getting postcards from all over the world! Feel free to send multiple postcards - the more the better!

Additionally, everyone who signs up will be assigned a Swap-bot partner to send one (1) postcard to.

All postcards may be store bought or handmade. No one with a rating lower than 4.7 may participate.

So, for this swap, send two (2) postcards - one (1) to your Swap-bot partner and one (1) to:

John Gould Fletcher Library, 823 North Buchanan Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205

Please include your swap-bot username on the postcards you send to the library so we can match your postcards to the correct address for sending the kids' postcards back.

Thank you to everyone who participates! The kids will delight in receiving postcards from around the world!

I have a question, please.

If we send the library more than one card, will we get more than one back? I have so much around where I live, a famous mountain, a famous rock garden, famous water falls, famous air post in a neighbor city, a famous city for that matter. All of which adds to where I live and most add to why I love it here.

I have sent two cards, from NH where I live now.... This way the cards are there when the Children, come into the library and they can see them... on the 21st. I thought if I waited til the end of the swap...the cards would not be there in time for the children to enjoy them... Pat

I agree with Pat. I'm sending mine to the Library today too.

That is a great idea, sign up now and get the card(s) sent then do what needs done with the partner later.

Please remember to print no cursive, so the children can read the cards.

Ok, I looked and found three cards, so I just decided to send all three.

One for my city, one for Denver and one for Royal gorge. I figure that covers this side of the state pretty good. Do I need to put a return address on the card? Or will the coordinator let the library know?

My 2 cards from Oklahoma are going in the mail tomorrow.

Sending more than one card to the library is appreciative. However, just one card will be sent from a kid in return.

whiffofjif 01/10/2011 #

Just put your swap-bot username on the card.

I'm sending my library one out early, too. Even printing, I'm not sure my handwriting is always legible...hope some kind librarian can help the kids decipher, if need be!

When do we get a partner from the site for this swap?
