The total of our packages--do you mean of all 4 packages together, or do you mean the total of each individual package?

Then again, I'm thinking you probably mean the first one: who has $100 to spend on swapping stuff? Heh...

(Then again, I've just realized that by now I've probably spent twice that in postage and stuff. D'oh.)

I don't see how I could do this and keep it a secret if you send internationally don't you HAVE to put a return address on it(I'm UK based) or do you just have an adress and no name to keep the secret??? Sounds good fun!

Yes, Prpldy, you have it correct! We will send our first package by October 10th, the next by Oct 17th, the next by Oct 24th and then the last by Oct 31!

I'm sorry, BattyBoredButterfly, but I made this swap "US only" to help save on postage. Also, I read in some of my other groups that there are new rules for postage in the UK. I'm really not sure what they are and didn't want anyone's package to get stopped.

I tried mailing a package off without a return address and the postlady got mad at me. So maybe you could make up a name (such as Sasha Starbringer) so the PO wont get mad at you but still keep the secret/

Just so I can be sure I have the timing of this one straight...we sign up by 9/24, and will be notified of our "sister" soon after that, correct? So the first package is due about 2 weeks after we get the person's name? I signed up because it sounds like a lot of fun and I definitely don't want to get the dates wrong!

The post office usually won't let you mail a package without a return address, so with secret swaps I use the address of the person I am sending the swap to as the return address and that works well. That way you can still keep it a secret.

I'm excited about this Swap. I wanted to remind everyone to PLEASE put the Swap Name somewhere on or in your package so that the proper swap can be "credited". You can put it on the outside of your package "Secret Sister Swap" (but I don't trust the mail service and won't indicate that there are goodies inside my package) or at least on a note or a slip of paper within the package, write "Secret Sister Swap".

It'd be really nice if participants who don't have web sites or blogs or even a Swap-bot profile would post something here about what they like or don't like. Some of us have secret sisters that are =totally= secret!

likes : candy, vegetarian/vegan themed items, recipies, animal items, cupcake items, baking, zines, paper, ribbon. bath items, lipgloss, chapstick, lotions,stickers, hair clips, interesting food items, cartoon network, pens and markers, tags, handmade items, cat toys, tomato theme, small items, tea, and anything pretty much. i love experiencing new things and surprises. i like all colors especially purple and turquoise.

dislike: country themes, country music,cowboys, hunting, military, disney, meat, earings (no pierced ears!) dark colored lipsticks, religious items.

Hi- However gets my name as there secret sister, please go to my profile as I have put mostly my likes and dislikes there in full detail, or at least as much as possible. Few other things that are not there are, I prefer not to recieve religous themed items, no food items, unless it might be some candy or something like that. Prefer not to recieve any music that is alternative, punk-rock, or hard core stuff. I have enough socks. Love things dated back to the 40's and early 50's whether it be nick nack or clothing item. I'm a knitter and love yarn, ribbons and notions. I enjoy paper related products even though I don't do scrap books. While I'm as religious, political and patriotic as the next person, I'm shy about exchanging items with those themes.

I can't do food items or lotions, I have allergies :(

I love to garden and I just joined the seed swap.

I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth but after receiving and sending out my first swap packages this week, I've found that these notes are helpful.

I received my swap pkg today and I loved it. All the little knick knacks and fun stuff will be put to good use. It was so fun to go to the mailbox and find a mystery package for me. My sister-in-law and Mother were here and they were all going through it as I took stuff out. "Wow I could use that and that too." My Secret Sister has already sent me something! I just LOVED the Hallmark Frog and Dragonfly "postcard" you sent! Someone's been reading up about me to know that I love green frogs and dragonflies! When I lifted the flap of this card (it's made like an envelope) not only did I read the Hallmark words "Let yourself glow!", but the dragonflies' tails started randomly lighting up! What fun! You put a smile on my face today, Secret Sister! Thank you so much!

I see people are adding more about themselves and what they like. Besides what is in my profile I'd like to get old handwriting, empty altoid tins, art supplies, colored pencils, chalks, pastels, paintbrushes, decorating books, etc. Unlike others, religious themed items are fine if they have to do with Saints or Mary. Especialy medals, vintage religious cards, milagros, vintage statues, rosaries, etc. I like old postcards, vintage black and white photos, pretty old buttons, old costume jewelry, anything cute and especially old. Hope this helps.

I have a question. On the last package, is it appropriate to send a handmade item/gift. How do people feel about receiving something made especially for them. Just LMK how you would feel receiving something handmade and one of a kind.

Mizleeza, I would prefer something made for me to something that was purchased. For some of us, the money spent isn't the biggest deal.

To my SS, you are the BEST! I just received on Monday that ADORABLE frog and dragonfly Hallmark card that lights up and here on Friday I receive a puffy from you! Wow! I feel so spoiled!

I smiled really big when I opened the envelope awhile ago to find two items wrapped in yellow gift wrap with a green frog print. She remembers I like Green Frogs! When I opened the flat package first, I found a package of Stickeroni Butterfly stickers! Yippee! I love Butterflies and I love Stickers!! And in the second package, my mouth just dropped open in surprise. Now, granted, I figured out it was Soap before I even opened it because of the scent, but to open it and to find Pink Soap with "Peony" imprinted in the soap just really surprised me. My Secret Sister has really been looking into my blog, or somewhere, to know that "Peony" is my favorite floral scent/bathroom products scent. And I can't easily find it! I remember falling in love with a Peony scented candle at Target (a department store) years ago, and when I went back for another candle years later, I couldn't find it anymore! It's haunted me, that scent! And to see that my SS KNOWS that I love the scent of Peony....well, I just have the best SS out there! She is really spoiling me!

I got my second SS package yesterday and it was full of great stuff! There were two aromatherapy bath fizzies (I used one of them in my bath that night), a package of bubble pencils with black halloween cats, a purple glitter pen with a Good 'N Plenty keychain, some found art magnets, found art stickers, and found art collage supplies. :) Thanks SS! My daughter and I are enjoying the suprizes.

To my absolute wonderful ss, I got my second pkg. from you in todays mail, and it just took my breathe away. You read my profile and picked some of my favorite things. It is fall now so I will be changing my nail color to red, which you sent to me, and also the lipstick. Perfect shade of red, as you know reds come in many shades, but the most special of all of my gifts enclosed in my box today was the equisite vintage pin. When I opened the tissue paper,I nearly passed out at how beautiful and special it is. I will cherish it forever. My second ss package arrived today! Wow! I love all the goodies/art supplies. Very inspiring! Makes me want to dive right in and make an art doll! hee-hee! The cloth in the first package was so beautiful! I just love the colors! I draped it over my altar so I can enjoy the colors all the time! Thanks!

Hi, wanted to let my ss know that on package #2 that was sent to you, I just put 8 postage stamps on the envelope myself, thinking that would be enough to send the package to you, I wasn't able to get to the post office to mail it. Sorry, I hope that the postage was enough and it doesn't get lost in the mail or not delivered, due to postage issues, maybe you can put a note here in the forum and let me know the status. I got my beautiful amaryllis bulb yesterday! I love these wonderful christmas gifts from nature. I have just the vase for them. The trowel will come in handy as I prepare to get my spring bulbs in the ground this week and finally, I've never seen that kind of weeder before. Sorry that I have nomt posted before, life has been a bit crazy. But Thanks to my secret sis for my two packages. I will try to clear the dining room table to take some pics! I got some stuff for beading and scrapbooking, glitter glue, note paper, a nice write on wipe off board, and at this moment I cannot recall what else!

Oh My Goodness is all I can say about my second package from my lovely SS! I can't believe all the nice goodies in this package. To My Secret Sister,

Thank you so much for two terrific gifts. My parents and I have been enjoying the tea on a cold, rainy weekend. And I'm planning to use the gift certificate this coming weekend!

My Secret Sister is the BEST! She has been so attentive to me and catered to my tastes so well!

I received another package today and inside was a little clear gift bag, tied closed with a hot pink (my fave color) ribbon, with two little gifts inside wrapped in blue paper and pink paper. After unwrapping the gifts I discovered the cutest little green frog brush, which I think is a vegetable scrubber, and a dragonfly cookie cutter! I love cookie cutters! I also love dragonflies and green frogs! My 5 year old daughter promptly asked me for a dragonfly sandwich. I was able to make her two from one sandwich using the dragonfly cookie cutter!

Thank you, SS, for the package I received last week, too! I opened the puffy envelope to find two gifties wrapped in pink flowered paper. Inside the wrappings were 2 "Mini Cool Clips" (bookmarks!), one of a ladybug and one of a flower, and a package of puffy round stickers of butterflies, dragonflies, a bee, a ladybug, and flowers! You really seem to know me! You have brightened my week each week with your attentiveness to me, your attentiveness to details (wrapping the gifts in EVERY package!), and your attentiveness to my likes! Wow!

Marianne emailed us all as a group a week ago (I think it was) asking for everyone to let her know if they've sent and if they've received because some Sisters hadn't been getting anything yet. I think the replies should have gone back to Marianne directly, but some people are hitting "reply all" or something and EVERYONE on the list is getting their individual replies. It's a little bit of a nuisance, but just delete the email when you see that subject line. That's what I've been doing after I figured out why I was getting them.

I hope EVERYONE has received something by now! If not, let Marianne know!

Sent my last package out today. :)

To my ss, I recieved my third package from you yesterday 10-25-06. Thanks so much for the Halloween witch, the magnet was just beautiful, I loved the saying on it, and my fiance came in and I showed it to him and he even said that it was very nice, and it is also in my favorite color pink, and lastly, the bookmarker and manifiying glass on the end was the best of all.I am am advid reader and that was the best. I just lovvvvvvvvvvve all of my gifts that you have sent me from the beginning of this swap. I can't wait for the final reveal. Happy Halloween.

Thanks to my Secret sister for my third package! I love the scent Lavender, and I like to have little pads of writing paper around. I will use the handmade decorative tissue paper to wrap a gift for a close friend who is leaving work. I have not yet thought of a use for the glittery letters!

I got my final SS package in the mail today from my awesome partner Julie! I love the warm handmade scarf and the delicious smelling bath gels and lotions! But thge best part was the presents she included for my daughter. She totally made my little girl's day with some washy-squashy soap and a cute froggy scarf!. Thank you for the nice letter too. I appreciate all the effort you put into your packages. I enjoyed receiving them so much!

I received my 2nd package from my SS last week. Was just was wonderful as the first. Can't wait for the next two packages to arrive. This is so much fun and can't wait to THANK my SS personally for being a great SS.

Received my fourth and final package today...thank you so much Sissie, I love everything you have sent...can't wait to do the little stitchery projects and the papers and stickers and pens are wonderful! This has been a delightful experience. Last night as I was doing some things on the computer, I said a little prayer of thanks for such a great thing like internet that has allowed me to make friends that I otherwise would not get to do. The candies are yummy, the pin very cute and the tin bucket will be very handy for knitting needles!

I received my 3rd and 4th packages today in the mail. I was honest and opened the third box first and surprise I received a lovely new address and notebook set (creamy ivory with silver edges) very pretty! Thank you.

Then I opened my final package and Surprise my Secret Sister was Cathi Jewell, I am so blessed to have had Cathi for my SS. All the gifts have been wonderful and fun. My final gifts were, Beaded earrings, lovely black fur cuffed gloves (to the cold hands warm during our frosty mornings here) and a heavenly smelling candle set (Bill Blass).

Thank you again for making this such a great swap. I hope that everyone is so blessed with their partners too.

Sent out packages to my ss, but haven't heard whether or not she got them. I really misread the instructions, I thought each gift was supposed to be up to $25, and not $25 total. So I sent up to that amount of gifts. I hope she got them.

I want to thank Verra for the wonderful things she sent me. I have enjoy them all. The last one was great it is a winter throw, and alot of great things I can use this time of year. I imagine she is running behind too and i totally understand. Dear Chengwa121: I received the last package today and it couldn't have come at a better time....I'm sick with the flu today and feel aweful but your package really brightened up my day. Thank you for being my Secret Sister...you are the best. I loved allk the packaged but the last was even better yet....I have fallen in love with the Violet Crumble....yummy! Wish I could find them around here. I've uploaded the picture but since She had this beauftiful purple box loaded totally it was hard to get a picture of everything she included and everything was purple too....chapstick, handmade magnets, duck tape, violet crumble (the best candy bar ever), beautiful beads, beading magazine, bubble gum, tea, sachet, ribbon, paint, PC, notepad, and so very much more. Loved it all!!! And loved the way your packaged up e4ach package and this was was very special as she had these wonderful words (create, believe, etc) on purple paper through out the package. It was perfect!

I was extremely unhappy with this swap. I admit I was late with mine and I did keep emails to my SS. I sent the final packages and she only rated me a 3. I felt they were extremely nice packages but with that I except that I was late. But to add insult to injury.....I never received one package from my SS. No word or contact. I even emailed her and nothing. I did email the swap hostess and never recieved any contact from her either. Because of this swap and few others were I didn't receive anything back I have decided to move away from swap bot completly. I have swapped at other more defined ones that have I have enjoyed more. Sorry for a negative response but I am very hurt from this unfair treatment.

Iva, i am pretty much with you. I see the person i sent to never sent out packages and didn't post anything. I felt like i should have sent my last 2 packages to someone who didnt get anything. Maybe in future would be a good idea with these type of swaps to not finish sending to people who arent even sending out the first one. Why should they get 4 packages. I received the first 2 packages from the person who had my name. She was late which i totally understood but never sent me the last 2 packages. After this swap and the Birthday one where i spend over $20 plus postage and didn't get anything then i give up. At least with that one i was thanked big time from the nicest person i sent to. It doesnt hurt as bad when you know you made somebody happy and at least got a thank you. Thank you Marianne for trying to keep up on everyone to mail out. Sally D
