It's time for Postcard Confessions, round four! In this postcard challenge, you will write a note to your partner on the theme what kind of animal would your familiar be? In myths and folklore, a familiar is an animal believed to be possessed of magic powers such as the ability to change its shape. Animal familiars are particularly beloved in literature and film, since they live with their humans and help them in their everyday lives, whether it is for good or for wicked deeds. Write a note to your swap partner describing what your imaginary animal would be like. What special powers would it possess, if any? How would it help you? If you like, you could even write your note as if you were your own animal familiar, perhaps describing a "typical" day in your life, a challenge you and your human are facing (real or imagined), or simply describing what your human is like. Don't forget that the nicest notes may also tell your reader a little something about you, whether it's directly through your facts or through the way you tell your story. You can often find out a lot about your partner through his or her creativity. Postcards are sender's choice and can be handmade, clean vintage, or store-bought, but please be sure to send things you'd like to receive. Choosing a postcard illustrating the theme or season is nice, but not strictly required. They should be written on and stamped (no envelope), and everyone will have 1 partner, with 1 postcard to send. Easy peasy. All the usual disclaimers: Please do not join if you don't plan on following through. If you are delayed for any reason, make sure to clearly communicate with your partner and with me. This swap is open to everyone with a well-rounded, well-filled-out profile, but those who seem risky will be deleted. And please--remember to rate your partner when you get your postcard...a heartfelt confession deserves acknowledgment! Previous editions in this series:
