Description:

I love Thanksgiving....its the beautiful comforting introduction to Christmas! In this swap you will send your partner a note stating what you are thankful for. However they must be very real and personal. For example, don't state that you are thankful for your mother and leave it at that. Tell your partner something dramatic that your mother did for you. So, my list might go something like this...

EXAMPLES "I am thankful for Stephen, my ex boyfriend, who enlightened me to learn what I really want in a mate. He wasn't good to me, but he taught me to stand up for myself and seek what I know I deserve".

"I am thankful for my brothers recovery of cancer that almost took his life"

So you see, you want to go into depth of what and who you are thankful for. I'm just trying to avoid a general list that would go something like, "I am thankful for my mom, dad, sister, brother, dog, job, amen!" (lol) I want some details here. It also might help you become very aware of the blessings right in front of you.

With this note you will send your partner a small thanksgiving item...no more than $7.00. Could be a small votive candle, small plush turkey, etc. Anything thanksgiving themed.

Anyone is welcome, even newbies, but you must have a well filled out profile. I hope I explained this to where everyone understands. If you don't, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Our international friends may not understand what turkey has to do with giving thanks. That "Thanksgiving" holiday is just a United States thing. The idea of the detailed note is great, though.

I think some other countries celebrate a similar holiday, just not at the same time, but this is essentially, an American holiday.

I thought about that when I created the swap. Im guessing if the person doesnt celebrate Thanksgiving, then they wont sign up. We shall see:)

Can the Thanksgiving item/items be handmade? Or does it need to be store bought?

I love this idea :)

PS.... It is an American Holiday

In UK it is called Harvest Holiday, But we don't do Turkey Dinner..My Granddad was American and taught me all about customs, So I know about Thansgiving, I think it is a Wonderful holiday.

Sorry I have to drop from swap. I'm nervous about the participants in the swap. (one of them has a brand new 1 rating - yikes)
