The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. ~ Dr. Seuss Do you have a beloved children's poem that you revisit time and time again? A love of language begins early in life, and some of the poetry we probably remember best are the ones written for children. For this swap, you will send your partner a copy of your favorite children's poem. It doesn't have to be one you specifically read as a child (unless you want it to be), just one that is primarily meant for children. You will also write a note to your partner explaining why the poem is meaningful to you, or just what you like about it. You may send actual pages from a book, print out a neat copy of the poem, hand-write it onto a card---however you'd like to present it so that it is enjoyable for your partner to read. Send your poem in an envelope...and rejoice! It's lovely to spread the written word to receptive hands, and of course you'll receive a poem in return as well. All the usual disclaimers: Please do not join if you don't plan on following through. If you are delayed for any reason, make sure to clearly communicate with your partner and with me. This swap is open to everyone with a well-rounded, well-filled-out profile, but those who seem risky will be deleted. And please--remember to rate your partner promptly when you receive your poem! It's the nice thing to do. Other swaps I am hosting: |
