Description:

I have noticed the journal jar swaps and while I would LOVE to join one, I can't afford to ship an actual jar.

Journal prompts are very helpful in the creative process, especially if you are just starting a journal or looking for new ideas. Or like me - getting back into it after a long time!

Examples of Journal prompts: (Use these as Inspiration - please don't copy them all and send them to your partner)

For this swap, you will need to send 75 journal prompts to your partner in an envelope. Try to be creative with the envie and the prompts themselves. Think colors, fonts, shapes, etc. They can be handwritten or typed.

The send out date is mid-September so you have plenty of time to get creative!

This is only the second swap I am hosting, so feel free to make any suggestions!

ive never done a journal before but ive always wanted to start one. would this be a good way to learn how to do one and start one

ladyhope 08/14/2010 #

It would be a great way to start! Just stick a prompt at the top of the page and start writing!

Do all the prompts have to be worded, or can some of them be visual/pictures?

crescendo 08/14/2010 #

oh yeah, I also wanted to ask, do they all need to be uniform in size?

ladyhope 08/14/2010 #

They don't have to be uniform in size, any size or shape is okay. As for visual cues, I would say to ask your partner. Not everyone is comfortable using visual cues for a journal, especially people who are just starting out.

What do you mean by, "Try to be creative, either with the envie or the prompts themselves"? Sounds like someone can choose to decorate an envie & just type the journal prompts instead of making them fancy. I would prefer putting the work into the journal prompts, but how disappointing to get typed words back!

ctyankee 08/15/2010 #

And by typed, I mean like what I'm doing right now ... nothing fancy!

ladyhope 08/15/2010 #

You are right, @ctyankee I should have specified both! Thank you for pointing that out.
