Coronations, birthdays, Halloween and New Year's Eve: these are times when you KNOW a crown (or tiara) is totally perfect!

REQUIREMENTS:
* 4.8 or higher rating at Swap-bot
* Recent history is clean – no trend toward 1’s or 3’s
* At least 5 completed swaps (5 different swaps through the mail)
* Must be willing to send internationally

TO CLAIM YOUR CROWN Post in the comments section below. Be specific:
* Your Dream Theme(s) - no more than 3
* Your Favorite Colors - no more than 3
* Dislikes - no more than 3
* Head size - Take a measuring tape and place it around the circumference of the head, slightly above the ears. Post that size in INCHES. If you need conversion help check http://www.itsallgreek.co.uk/us/metus_convert.htm

TO MAKE THE CROWN:
* Include one or more of the favorite colors
* Incorporate one or more of the dream themes
* Observe ALL the dislikes - don't use those on the crown.
* The crown should be sized so it will fit either around the head OR can be placed on top of the head. Communicate with your partner on this point. It should be a REAL crown, not a doll-sized crown.

THE RULES:
* Making this crown should be a creative challenge, not a burden. When you make your wish list, remember that what you are getting is a fun-filled GIFT. Don't be so picky that your partner feels like it’s a REQUIRED chore!
* The crown you make is to be something exceptional that you create for your partner and send as a New Year's greeting. You are making 1 crown for 1 partner.
* Use paper, fabric, clay, pipe-cleaners, wire, beads, sequins -- you choose the materials when you make it. Make it something special. Make it something your partner will be excited and proud to wear and display. Make it something YOU would be happy to receive! Nice, but reasonable (maybe $20 - $25 US for supplies.)

I just, love, love, love this idea! I hope that I did this right!

  • Your Dream Theme(s) - I'm guessing that what you mean is, like, Romantic, and that sort. Um...romantic, "diamond-girl" (meaning flashy, but not to... did that make any sense?), and...I don't know! Email me or something and I shall think on it. :-D

  • Your Favorite Colors - Pink, White, Lavander. I just LOVE pink and white mixed together.

  • Dislikes - Well...spiders and needles, but color wise? I really don't know... If you would like me to get REALLY specific, PM me and I'll...try. LOL

  • Head size - Can't find a thingy to measure my noggin with. I'll post or PM you when I have it figured out.

This is soooo cute!

I am so totally open to anything like that on your friend's Flickr site. I think I would like a crown, but tiaras are great too. I really like the “Heiress To the Throne� …..beautiful! But I would love the “Woodland Fairy� just the same. I would prefer something light and airy and whatever colors you feel work. I was thinking my dislikes are spiders and snakes, creepy crawlies. But then I thought that could be cool. So I suppose my dislikes would be something bulky and overly cumbersome.
My head size is 20 inches

I would love an elegant Victorian Gothic TIARA please. Preferably in black and purple with a little bit of sparkle. Maybe an old diamante brooch or necklace incorporated into the design? My favorite colours are black, purple and silver. I dislike anything gaudy/flashy (especially gold), bright colours and earth tones (i.e browns, oranges, yellows and greens). I like it dark : ) I love black roses, feathers, lace, crystals and beads that catch the light. If it's of any use to my partners finished design I have a silver tiara base and some 1cm black roses, small black feathers and black lace I can send. I will love whatever my partner creates though, as it will be the first tiara anyone's made especially for me. I can't wait : )

LOL I love this swap idea! I have a dear leather-club brother/friend who adores crowns & tiaras and HE is gonna be SO JEALOUS when he sees mine!

  • Dream Theme(s) - Any "style" is fine (crown or tiara) just so my friend will be green with envy - I like lots of shiny & stars, but whatever makes YOU smile!
  • Favorite Colors - Forest Green and Jewel Tones
  • Dislikes - What's to not like about a crown??!!

OK...not sure how many of you have Hallmark shops where you live, but they have a wonderful "spider web" Halloween crown/tiara on sale right now. It's black webby wire, with a big spider...the base would be a fantastic gothy tiara, TG!

I was out shopping the other day and came across the book, Crowns & Tiaras (Add a Little Sparkle, Glitter & Glamour to Every Day) by Kerri Judd and Danyel Montecinos (and contributing artists). So cute, so much info and how to.....I had to buy it. It's packed with so many crowns and tiaras.......all are fantastic.

I don't have a particular theme I would like, although I am continually inspired by nature and art nouveau. My favorite color is blue but I'm sure anything festive would be nice. One thing, although my name is Ryan, I am not a boy. I'm sure I'll like anything, I really prefer to see what creations poeple come up with on their own, just nothing that looks too much like it belongs on a disney princess. Dream Theme - "dark queen", "mermaid", "coffee celebration"

Your Favorite Colors - for this crown I'd love to have black, white & silver (theme 1), very dark blue, deep purple and silver (theme 2) or deep chocolate-y browns and gold (theme 3)

  • Dislikes - not big on the color orange or pea-greens
