Description:

Create or buy anything handmade. You can send something you make-- as long as you put effort into it!! Or purchase something. Etsy is one idea for that, but consider local buys (something your partner wouldn't be able to buy themselves). Farmers markets or antique shops can be nice for that. Spend around $10 if you're buying something.

I'll angel if there's any flakers. Also, if anyone gets anything they're unsatisfied with I'll gladly do a personal swap (---because more often than not through this site I've received things that were slopped together & that's disappointing when you put effort into the packages you make).

Let's make this something your partner will smile about when opening!

Watching for now, nice swap, although I wouldn't be too happy if I spent $10 on something and then I received a crocheted dishcloth. Would you consider having people spend $5 out of fairness?

I agree with shabby. I'm watching as well

Since people have already signed up under the assumption that it's $10 I'm going to leave it. I'll make another one for that price range, if that sounds good.

I was thinking if you're the one making something (as opposed to buying something handmade) then you spend about $10 on supplies... or if something is time consuming then you could consider that worth more too. I understand what you mean though... I've had a lot of people not understand equal exchange/putting effort into swaps, but I think that's a gamble with lots of swaps on this site :/

I think this sounds like a fun swap. I would think that if you made dishcloths that you send more than one. But, yes I also agree that people interrupt things differently. And, that supplies and your time need to go into consideration.

How do you pick a partner to send your craft too?

slewis234 06/23/2010 #

what about several handmade anythings? or does it have to be one item for that price? i'd like to make several different things worth 10.00

Sam38372: The partner info will be posted after the Last day to signup/drop: (Date). So, in this case 07/01/10 and you have until the Date items must be sent by: (Date) July 7, 2010 to mark as sent and send your item(s).

Slewis234: I was planning on making a variety of items to total the $10.

watchmespinning: Please correct me if I'm wrong.

watchmespinning 06/24/2010 #

@j3ss1ca that's correct, thanks!

Oh noooo! I would join this if it weren't over the July 4 holidays. No sure I have the time. :/

I like this swap. Can't join because of the dates, but will forward to seeing the next one posted.

Do people have "issues" with receiving dishcloths? I mean, like, if $10 value was sent, do people still not think that's fair? or desirable? Just curious :)

re: dishcloths. I understand the concern. As a knitter often the cost of a nice cotton fiber is around $5-$10, a scarf can run upwards of $10-$20. The handmade clothes are sure nice in the shower though and they hold up much better than most store bought. I'm new so I'll watch for now :)

Handmade dishclothes?? I've never had one, but I feel they would be nice.
