If you're like me and love lavender, this swap is for you. You will send your partner a package worth at least US$10, with a minimum of three lavender related items. These items can be anything at all, as long as they have something to do with lavender. Some ideas include:

* dried lavender
* hand cream
* memo pad or notebook
* tea
* napkins
* fabric

Please indicate clearly in the comments section if there are any customs regulations within your country governing what you can and cannot receive (e.g. no dried plants), and be prepared to put together your package accordingly, should your partner have any local restrictions.

U.S. Custom regulations indicate "All packages that contain plants, plant products, soil, plant pests, plant material used for packing, animals, and animal products and byproducts, including meats, are subject to agricultural quarantine inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (see DMM 601)."

So, I called my postmaster post office to see what that meant, and he read off the regulations and said he did not see anything prohibiting the mailing of lavender.

Laff that is funny. =) I think the US should be alright. It's usually New Zealand or Australia that's a bit more tricky.
