Description:

This is the second swap in a monthly series. Each month will have a different theme.

The theme this month is CHRISTMAS IN JULY.

This theme is pretty self-explanatory. Go crazy with Christmas - decorations, ornaments, bows, tags, whatever you can find that fits the Christmas theme. Sender's choice.

Items can be handmade or store bought, but value should be in the $8-$10 range.

Once you selected all the goodies, grab an empty 2 liter bottle. Make sure it's been washed and dried. Cut a door in the side of the bottle. Stuff all the goodies into the bottle. Tape up the flap and glue on the lid. Add an address label and that's it! No additional wrapping necessary.

More detailed instructions if you need them.

A quick note about quality - only send items that you would be overjoyed to receive. Remember the purpose of this group is to spoil your partner.

Guidelines:

Must have been rated for 10 separate snail mail swaps, 4.9 rating or higher, no 1's or 3's within the past 6 months without a valid explanation, known non-raters may also be banned. I will ban anyone that I feel might not be able to fulfill the swap requirements.

This swap is sender's choice, but make sure your profile is WELL filled out. Just in case your partner wants to send some profile based items.

I have a question how much does these usually cost to mail? ball park figure?? that is what scared me off last time, lol

missstamper 06/ 2/2010 #

I haven't mailed one for a few years, but it used to cost about the same as a regular package. It just depends on how heavy it is. I will be mailing mine in a day or two and I will post the weight and cost to mail here. : )

missstamper 06/ 7/2010 #

I sent one out today - a one liter bottle with that wasn't too heavy. I was able to ship it Priority for under $5. If I had sent it 1st Class it would have been a little over $2. There was no additional charge because it was a bottle instead of a box or envelope. I got a fairly heavy bottle today from wonderlandcreature and it cost $3.09 to get to me.

LADYHIGHTOWER 06/ 9/2010 #

Ok to use a glass bottle?

missstamper 06/ 9/2010 #

I don't think you can send a glass bottle bare through the mail. It would have to be wrapped and cushioned well to make it safely. Glass would also be MUCH heavier and more costly to mail.

Is this swap for a 1 liter or a 2 liter? (swap description says 2 liter but your comment above says you sent a 1 liter). Is it ok to send it first class? (as long as it is under 13 oz that is)

missstamper 06/16/2010 #

The swap description is correct. It is for a 2 liter bottle.

My comment was actually incorrect, I did mail a 2 liter that day.

First Class is fine. I think that is how I sent mine.

This is absolutely Mind boggling to me! I have sent Donut boxes, empty cleaned Cheetos bags, and candy wrappers through the mail - but one can actually mail a Naked 2 liter plastic bottle?? Is that what you are saying?? OMGOSH! Tell me this is true and I'm joining up tomorrow! wow!! What a blast! -Jan

missstamper 06/28/2010 #

Oh yes @Peanutbutterrhino that is exactly what I am saying. I've done it for years. My postmaster told me that someone once set out over 100 wedding invitations in 12 oz bottles!

Peanutbutterrhino 06/28/2010 #

I can't wait to do this one!!

Megbomb 06/30/2010 #

missstamper 06/30/2010 #
