I don't know how many have noticed but if you read the true fairy tales they can be very dark and almost scary (well to a child anyways). I find this very interesting. Times have changed. We seem to baby our kids now. We try and let them only see all the good things and never the bad. They see the world in Rose colored glasses. But we all know that the world can be a cruel and terible place at times. That seems to be what the message is that these fairy tales tried to get across. I'm am not saying that this should be the way that you bring your child up, but I am only giving you something to think about. So in honor of these great fairy tales I will host a series of ATC swaps that feature a different fairy tale. If you are looking for cutesy fairy tale ATC swaps you might not want to do these. These will be the real fairy tales and those can be pretty dark. The first ATC will be the classic Hansel and Grethel from the Grimm's fairy tales. To read the story go to this site..... http://www.nationalgeographic.com/grimm/hansel_grethel.html The Rules: These are senders choice to a certain extent just make sure it's overall theme has to do with the fairy tale. Any medium can be used. Just try and put some effort in it. No cards with a sticker just stuck on it. These must be in the ATC size of 2.5"x3.5", or 64x89mm. This is a great site that gives a great explanation on ATC's http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html. Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile. All others must have a rating of 4.5 or higher. Thanks and I look forward to what you guys come up with! |
