Description:

I don't know how many have noticed but if you read the true fairy tales they can be very dark and almost scary (well to a child anyways). I find this very interesting. Times have changed. We seem to baby our kids now. We try and let them only see all the good things and never the bad. They see the world in Rose colored glasses. But we all know that the world can be a cruel and terible place at times. That seems to be what the message is that these fairy tales tried to get across. I'm am not saying that this should be the way that you bring your child up, but I am only giving you something to think about. So in honor of these great fairy tales I will host a series of ATC swaps that feature a different fairy tale. If you are looking for cutesy fairy tale ATC swaps you might not want to do these. These will be the real fairy tales and those can be pretty dark.

The first ATC will be the classic Hansel and Grethel from the Grimm's fairy tales.

To read the story go to this site.....

The Rules: These are senders choice to a certain extent just make sure it's overall theme has to do with the fairy tale. Any medium can be used. Just try and put some effort in it. No cards with a sticker just stuck on it. These must be in the ATC size of 2.5"x3.5", or 64x89mm. This is a great site that gives a great explanation on ATC's http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html.

Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile. All others must have a rating of 4.5 or higher.

Thanks and I look forward to what you guys come up with!

Oh my gosh, Hansel & Gretel is one of my favourite fairy tales. I'm gonna promo this swap at GSC.

Oooooh...dark and wicked....right up my alley ;) I think you were the first to sign up for the Blood Countess ATC swap, so I had to return the favor ;) Muah! I'm excited about this one!

@wunderland That is so funny. I was actually going to pitch this idea to you and another group I am a part of to see if you guys wanted me to do them for the groups, but I decided to keep them public, but I am so happy that you are going to help promote it. I am so excited about doing these. I have been watching Brothers Grimm a lot lately, and my head is spinning with the possibilities of this swap.

@mountaingirl101 thanks for returning the favor. That is one swap that I knew I had to join. I absolutley love the dark swaps, and a real creepy person in history is the best.

sooooooo.....when will you be posting the next in your series? ;) I'm doing research as to who I will be spotlighting after the Blood Countess ATC ... I want to stick with the real creepy women I think... hmmmm... There's always the lovely Lizzie Borden! lol

@mountaingirl101 Lizzie Borden is a great choice! I'd go with her. Not sure when I will be posting the next one. Maybe sometime this week. I just haven't thought that far ahead. lol.

What an awesome idea! I did a paper in college on the psychology of fairy tales and the needs the satisfy in all of us... this will be fun! Am on the watch list, but will definitely join when it's closer... get too many on my dashboard and I feel overwhelmed! LOL

@pmj1959 I am so happy that you are excited about this one. I totally understand the dashboard thing. I am feeling that right now. lol. I'm tempted to opt on on some swaps but I want to do them all.
